Travel Alberta

Following her recent gold-medal win at St Moritz, Switzerland, Olympic silver medallist Shelley Rudman, 27 and partner Kristan Bromley,36, are travelling to Alberta, Canada for a well-earned rest, which will help Shelley recover from the broken finger she sustained during training.

Rudmans record-breaking win at the European Bob Skeleton Championships takes her to the head of the World Cup rankings for the 2008/9 season. This is Rudmans third medal from the five World Cup competitions so far this season, which means she is on target with her training plan for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Bromley, also known as Dr Ice, won the overall Bob Skeleton World Cup, World Championships and Europeans last season and is the first Briton to do so since 1965. Rudman and Bromley will be spending time in Calgary and Banff relaxing and re-charging prior to the World Cup at Lake Placid, Friday 20 Feb to Sunday 1 March.

The couple regularly train at Canada Olympic Park (COP) in Calgary. This superior facility is a successful legacy from the 1998 Winter Olympics. COP is home to the Ice House where Rudman and Bromley hone those all important starts.

As well as undertaking some press interviews, Rudman and Bromley are looking forward to shopping, dining and relaxing in Calgary and Banff. They will be staying for four nights at the renowned Fairmont Banff Springs and partaking in several winter activities.
