Established designers have featured in the QT Fashion Week & Awards on the Gold Coast held 29th May – 1st June 2014...
This year's signature event at QT Fashion Week & Awards was the QT Fashion Week Gala Runway Dinner. The black-tie event offered guests the opportunity to dine around the runway in the QT Ballroom.
“We are proud that TALULAH, Nicola Finetti and Shakuhachi established designers have showcased their 14/15 collections at QT Fashion Week Gala Runway Dinner. All three of these designers are masters in the field of design and to have them all showing in the one evening was simply amazing!” stated event organiser Michaela Fitzgerald.
TALULH not only showed their 'ready to wear' collection but also exhibited their swim/resort collection that was a new addition to the brand which launched last year. Nicola Finetti who has shown his support for the ever-growing event debuted his new Collection at the prestigious dinner. Shakuhachi was welcomed for a first time to showcase on the Gold Coast. Shakuhachi already has a cult following in the southern states with an iconic store on Chapel Street, Melbourne. The internationally stocked brand boasts silhouettes that are both functional and feminine. The recognizable but evolutionary aesthetic of Shakuhachi is now stronger than ever.
“At the QT Fashion Week Gala Runway Dinner the winners of the 'Best up and Coming Designer for 2014' were announced. The winners also featured their garments in a runway parade at the Gala Dinner, giving the designers priceless exposure and experience.” stated Michaela Fitzgerald.
Tickets for the QT Fashion Week Gala Runway dinner were $185 per person and included welcome beverages and canapés, three course dinner and beverage package.
A new edition to the schedule this year was the QT Fashion Day Out which was pop up stores, pamper lounges and runway shows.
“We were extremely excited that established designer Cameo the Label featured at our QT Fashion Day Out. Cameo the Label is stocked in over 2000 boutiques, department stores and online retailers such as David Jones, Planet Blue, The Iconic and The Fashion Bunker. It was an absolute privilege for us to have them showing at QT Fashion Week & Awards” stated Michaela Fitzgerald.

Shakuhachi
Self taught fashion designer, Jessie White, launched her womenswear label 'Shakuhachi' in 2000 with a small collection of handmade t-shirts, made on a budget of just $400. Jessie presented the three-piece neon printed t-shirt range to a boutique in Melbourne, Australia and it was bought on the spot. She had started to make her mark on the Australian fashion industry, yet Jessie remains a bit of anomaly – she bases herself in Bali, concentrating on slowly expanding her brand.
As the Shakuhachi brand began to grow, it started to become regularly featured in the fashion press, including Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire, Madison, Australian Vogue and Yen. The label that rose out of a love of art and fashion, has grown up in recent years with recent Shakuhachi collections showing a more mature side of the Shakuhachi brand. The label's current collections focus primarily on exquisitely tailored garments, clever detailing and stand-out prints, with the silhouettes being functional, yet feminine.
Jessie White's label has come along way from the humble three-piece debut collection – Shakuhachi has reached cult status within the fashion industry and has become a name that is known in every corner of the world. As of early 2012, the Shakuhachi collections were available through a variety of stores such as New Zealand, Asia, USA and the UK and is stocked in a range of exclusive boutiques and department stores nationally including Tuchuzy, Capital L and David Jones. A full list of stockist can be found on the official Shakuhachi website.

Nicola believes every woman has a shameless beauty…
All these contradictions are expresses in his designs, surprising us from season to season and giving his creations the power to take the breath away with sensual modern form.
Philosophy: “There is so much liberty to dressing, that now, more than ever, women can express their individuality, femininity, invention and strength through my silhouettes and use of fabrics.”

Cameo the Label
Characterised by its directional, experimental and visionary designs, Cameo sets out to create an innovative way to dress. Heavy but touch-soft fabrics, direction prints and a polished finish encompass the Cameo signature aesthetic.

Each of Cameo's 11 yearly collections are created around a central theme. This concept is teased out through the shapes, fabrication and design details of the garments. . “Every step of a garment's creation involves directed artistic input,” says Head Designer Kathryn Forth. “From the drawing stage to blocking the pattern pieces, from developing the exclusive fabrication to designing the prints or artwork to grace the fabric.” The central theme is encapsulated by the beautiful lookbooks and campaign imagery which encompasses each collection.
To wear the Cameo design is to embrace a creative concept and lay further expression upon it. Each time you wear a Cameo piece, it continues to evolve with your own unique personal exploration. “Styling a cameo Cameo garment is more than just complimenting design. You are creating an overall look which reflects your mood or evokes the persona you want to project for that day.”
