Scandinavia Only

While most of us are enjoying the fact that summer is here at last, for some the current heatwave is proving too much. Why not book a last minute break to Iceland with Taber Holidays and cool off with a visit to this unique island where the bizarre really does meet the beautiful?

Specialists to Scandinavia, Taber Holidays offer a number of summer trips to Iceland ranging from three to 14 nights. Known as the ‘land of fire and ice’, Iceland offers probably the most diverse scenery you are ever likely to see in one country.

Iceland Odyssey – from £1,480pp – This seven-night fly-drive tour explores some of Iceland’s most striking scenery and geological wonders. Visit the pretty fishing town of Stykkisholmur, the largest on the Snæfellsnes peninsula; the town of Akureyri, 'capital of the north', beautifully positioned on Iceland's longest fjord, Eyjafjörður, and the stunning Lake Mývatn area with its nature baths and surreal lava fields. Departs daily until 30 September. Prices start from £1,480pp and include flights from London Heathrow, accommodation, breakfast, some dinners, car hire and unlimited mileage. Based on two sharing. Flights are also possible from Manchester and Glasgow at no extra supplement.

The Best of Iceland – from £2,455pp A wonderful two-week tour of both north and south Iceland incorporating some of the country’s most spectacular sights. The dual-centre itinerary focuses on guided tours from Akureyri and Hella, meaning less packing and more relaxing, while at the same time offering the chance to see all of Iceland’s main attractions. Highlights include bathing in Hveravellir hot springs, The Westman Islands, Lake Mývatn, Dettifoss, Europe’s most powerful waterfall and Reykjavik. Lead-in prices are from £2,455pp, which includes flights, accommodation with breakfast and a bus and guide for 12 days of the tour. Based on two sharing. Departs 28 July and 11 August 2013.

Reykjavik – from £766pp - For those after a shorter trip, how about a city break to Reykjavik, the world’s most northerly capital? This vibrant and cosmopolitan city really does have something for everyone and is the starting point for a number of exciting optional excursions including midnight whale watching, Rafting on the Hvíta River, quad biking, glacier hiking and ice climbing. Prices for three nights including flights from London Heathrow to Reykjavik, transfers and accommodation including breakfast start from £766pp. Based on two sharing.
