Enjoy Your Martini "Shaken Not Stirred" - The James Bond Escape To The Isle Of Eriska

The Isle of Eriska

The 5* Isle of Eriska Hotel, Spa and Island, just off the West coast of Scotland has launched a new James Bond Escape. To mark the success of the recent movie Skyfall and to celebrate 50 years of Bond, the Isle of Eriska Hotel is inviting guests on a once in a lifetime luxury short break to soak up the atmosphere on the hotel’s own private island and visit some famous Bond locations, travelling in the comfort and style of an Aston Martin DB9 and private speedboat!

Guests will pick up their effortlessly cool Aston Martin DB9 on arrival at Edinburgh airport and travel in style through the Land of Braveheart, onto the West Highlands of Scotland, passing by the dramatic scenery of Rannoch Moor and Glencoe - the location for much of Skyfall’s epic conclusion.

Arriving in time for a very special afternoon tea, visitors will then have time to explore the island and spot some of its’ countless species of wildlife such as the seals and otters that inhabit the Island’s untouched beach. In the evenings guests will dine in the hotel’s exquisite 3AA Rosette Restaurant.

Following a hearty Scottish breakfast on day two, it will be full steam ahead as Bond lovers board their private speed boat and cruise through the sea to the Island of Mull and home of the Maclean Clan - Duart Castle. The castle was restored in the early 20th century by Sir Fitzroy Donald MacLean a soldier who parachuted into Yugoslavia to assist the resistance in WW2. MacLean’s incredible exploits as a soldier are said to have been the origins of Ian Fleming's James Bond and 007.

Visitors will then have the afternoon to kick back, relax and enjoy the unique experience of being on a beautiful private island. They could enjoy a spot of golf or for the ultimate indulgence - a treatment in the ESPA spa. That evening, guests will be invited to meet in the Library Bar, suited and booted ready for a Martini Cocktail Masterclass where the history of 007’s favourite tipple will be explained before another sumptuous dinner in the hotel’s restaurant.

The final day will see visits to famous movie scenes from ‘From Russia with Love’ and ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ before heading back to Edinburgh.
