Cornwall's Polurrian on The Lizard hotel is a stunning spot to spend the festive season. There's a beautiful beach on the doorstep and the South West coastal path to explore as well as a great range of activities and entertainment in the hotel.

Guests can wrap up warm and enjoy the sights of the South West coastal path directly from the hotel. A monument to Marconi, who sent the first transatlantic wireless signal from there in 1901 is nearby and there are some lovely secluded coves (Church and Poldhu) as well as medieval landmarks.

On arrival at the hotel guests will enjoy mulled wine and mince pies while they discover all that's on offer during their break. There'll be wreath making, a mocktail masterclass for the kids and live music by local artists to entertain guests; and the stunning Vista will be a great place to relax with a glass of fizz and take in the incredible view. Once the children are tucked up or enjoying a festive film, the hotel's resident mixologist will hold a cocktail masterclass using a selection of the best Cornish tipples, to demonstrate how to make classic cocktails.

Christmas Eve will be a fun-packed day with board games in the Vista, kids' pizza making, a Pool tournament for everyone, plus a festive sing-along for those embracing the Christmas spirit. The hotel will also arrange taxis for those wanting to attend Midnight Mass at Mullion Church.

Christmas Day will begin with a Buck's Fizz breakfast; lunch will be paired with wines and a buffet dinner will be served in the evening. For those who want to tear themselves away from the comfort of the hotel, the annual Boxing Day Swim at Poldhu Cove is not for the faint-hearted (no wetsuits!) but is definitely fun to join in or just watch. Last year the hotel had plenty of guests who continued the festive activities and enjoyed a brisk swim! Hot pasties, soup & mulled wine will be served back at the hotel. Ten-minute, mini spa treatments will be available throughout the afternoon, before dinner is served.

The hotel's six stunning three-bedroomed, two-bathroom villas are also available to book over Christmas. Each sleep six, and guests can enjoy their own private space whilst benefitting from the entertainment and all the hotel has to offer (rates from £349 rate for three nights self-catering).
