Christmas Eve dinner is the focus for feasting in Madrid, as it is with much of Europe and the Only YOU menu is paired with the best wines and Veuve Cliquot Champagne.

To start with, aperitifs are served with Iberian ham and Ibizan toasts with grated tomato.  The first course is a curl of smoked salmon with horseradish leaves served with honey and mustard vinaigrette dressing and followed by a rack of lamb with sweet potato puree and shangay sauce. A chocolate and gold ingot cake provide a dramatic finale, although it wouldn't be Christmas without petits fours, pannetone and Turron.

Christmas Day Brunch

To walk off some of the indulgences, Christmas Day morning can be spent exploring some of Madrid's green spaces such as Retiro Park, close to Only YOU Atocha. The city is often blessed with sunny and cold winter days, perfect for bundling up and taking a stroll before heading back to enjoy the Only YOU Brunch, full of sweet and savoury delicacies and hot fresh coffee. 

New Year's Eve Dinner & Party

Madrid is particularly renowned for the 'The Twelve Grapes' ritual, which is now creeping across the whole of Spain. With each strike of the clock at midnight, participants eat a grape. That's a total of 12 grapes in under a minute. If successful you will ward away evil spirits and have a prosperous year. Only YOU will provide enough grapes, but will precede the ceremony with a more relaxed and fine dining experience.

Starting off, first course options are spectacular with steak tartare and beluga caviar; porcini mushrooms duxelles and a white truffle tartlett and Olive Ascolana with chilli bean sauce.  Main courses include Galician scallops, salt cod tripe and black garlic stew; grilled wild sea bass with a suquet (stew) and saffron oil and Beef Wellington with mushroom and foie gras duxelles and glazed wild asparagus. This is followed by an inter-course refreshing mojito and a chocolate, vanilla and gold ingot cake.

Only YOU Atocha New Year's Eve dinner & party: £232, includes wine and after party with free bar and food

New Year party only: £112

A welcoming aperitif will be followed by first course options of foie gras terrine and spiced bread; crispy pork crackling and pine nuts; sea bass cerviche with air of coriander and organic caviar foam; hot foam of potatoes with false truffles and parmesan cheese crisps. The main menu comprises lobster, vegetable, herb and flower petal salad with tomato water gel; Cod confit with bomba rice and Iberian pig's ear; Ox sirloin cooked in its own juice with truffle honey and parmentier potatoes and mushrooms. Sweet course options include crispy Tahitian vanilla millfeuilles, raspberry dust and Siclian pistachio ice cream; Christmas pearls of Jijona turron on a bed of foam; Christmas sweets, turron and typical Spanish shortbread pastries.

New Year's Day Brunch

After making the most of the longest night of the year in the capital, brunch is served with a culinary selection full of surprises including aperitifs, starters, meat and fish dishes, a selection of cakes, desserts and pasta buffets – setting you up nicely for 2018!

The Spanish celebrate Epiphany – 6 January – as the traditional day to exchange gifts, as this is when the Three Kings – or Wise Men arrived in Bethlehem with their gold, frankincense and myrrh. It is a public holiday and Madrid enjoys a spectacular parade with sweets for the children raining down from the parade participants.

The Only YOU Three Kings brunch is festooned with plenty of sweets. Served at the Septima restaurant on the seventh floor, there are spectacular views over the city. This special festive brunch also includes healthier meat, fish and pasta options, starters and desserts.

Dinner to celebrate the Three Kings will welcome guests with foie gras bonbons with gold dust or thick cut Almadraba blue fin tuna, Serrano pepper sauce and green lemon,  followed by Shrimp salad,  tomato and truffle vinaigrette or rolled suckling pig confited with citrus fruit puree.
