La Manga Club

In today's hectic world, more and more people are striving to discover the secrets to a healthy lifestyle, and Spain's La Manga Club will be offering tips and advice in abundance when it stages an innovative new wellness retreat at the end of next month.

Run by a team of experts from the Chopra Center in California, La Manga Club - Europe's leading sports and leisure destination - will host the 'Perfect Health Weekend' from March 28-30, with two-night packages starting from €257 per person.

Featuring a combination of meditative techniques and lectures, the three-day programme will include a number of presentations designed to give participants valuable knowledge that they can use to lead healthier lives.

As well as receiving information on different concepts, philosophies and practice tips for wellness, the workshop will also feature practical activities, with meditative exercises that focus on stilling the mind and relaxation through visualisations, breathing and movement.

A series of lectures will offer expert advice in the basic principles of Ayurveda, meditation, and yoga, guests can learn a range of practices to help use food as medicine and your senses to heal, nourish and maintain your inner self, while hand-outs will be on offer to all participants to help them continue the techniques in the future.

Places on the weekend retreat are strictly limited and package prices - based on two people sharing a room - also include bed and breakfast accommodation in La Manga Club's Las Lomas Village or five-star Hotel Principe Felipe (€330 per person), and access to Spa La Manga Club's fitness centre, indoor pool, saunas and steam rooms.

The health and fitness break is the first of a number of new initiatives that La Manga Club will be unveiling in 2014 as it prepares to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its spa and is the latest in a wide range of specialist courses and retreats that it is offering this year.

Working closely with fitness experts Fitness 12, Spain's flagship resort will be staging a number of camps over the coming months focusing on fitness, detox, triathlon and cycling.
