Elegant Hotels Group has launched an exciting new kids' activity programme for families to enjoy this summer which includes horse riding, catamaran trips and submarine tours.

The Bajan Family Adventure Camp is available in the group's four family-friendly properties in Barbados, including Turtle Beach, Tamarind, Crystal Cove and Colony Club which all already offer complimentary watersports and tuition to guests.

Designed to complement each hotel's on-site activity programme, the Bajan Family Adventure Camp is available for youngsters  aged 10 to 16 years of age* and includes up to four off-property excursions to explore the Caribbean island with or without parents in tow. Parents can be safe in the knowledge that their offspring are being watched over by a trained Elegant Hotels Group kids' club employee, whilst the children get to experience some independence and adventure.  Guaranteed to wear participants out, parents can make the most of relaxing at the hotel or if they are also up for the adventure, they can join the excursion.

Day trips on the Bajan Family Adventure Camp schedule include an educational horse-riding trip through Barbados' tropical forest. On the excursion, families will be able to get up close and personal with the island's infamous green monkeys as well as spot mongoose and a variety of flora and fauna as they trot through the bearded fig trees. There will also be plenty of opportunity to learn about how to care for horses and ponies. Leaving the land behind, there is also a catamaran trip along the sparkling west coast of the island which includes the opportunity to snorkel and swim with sea turtles. For those who want to stay dry but still see the wonders of the ocean, the Atlantis Submarine tour takes explorers through the crystal clear waters to the sea bed with plenty of 'nemos' and turtles to be seen through the porthole windows along the way.  The submarine dives to a depth of 150 metres, has a rest on the sea bed and circles a shipwreck which is home to lots of marine life, so is brilliant for youngsters who don't want to get their hair wet.

The Bajan Family Adventure Camp starts at $100 USD (approx. £60) per child for a two day camp. Additional days can be purchased at $50 (approx. £30) USD per day/child. The trip includes transfers, excursion, guide/instructor, accompanying chaperone from property as well as snacks and beverages along the way. Parents can join the camp for $85 per day (approx. £50).
