The Private Andalucían Hideaway, Cortijo El Carligto, is set to make its televisual debut after being selected to take part in a brand new Channel 4 television series in the UK, 'Homes by the Med'; the sister series to the successful and ever popular 'Homes by the Sea'.

The primetime Channel 4 eight-part series (due to air at the end of April in the UK) explores inspirational and beautiful homes all along the coasts of Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Mallorca. This uplifting television series is hosted by architect Charlie Luxton who meets home owners with amazing coastal properties to discuss the design, build and the joy of living near the sea. The El Carligto estate boasts two stylishly designed homes in an unsurpassed hilltop location near Malaga in Spain with breath-taking views over the Mediterranean to the Moroccan coast. The larger of the two private villas (El Carligto) was the star of this show, brimming with character and exquisite interior design touches courtesy of the discerning taste of the owners, who were absolutely thrilled to be selected and can't wait to see their beautiful home aired on the small screen.

Owner Alan Hazel says, “We love to welcome our guests who come to experience a 5-star luxury villa holiday with a difference. We treated the television crew to some of the services our guests enjoy by firing up the pizza oven and serving them some local tapas and wines. We even invited a Flamenco guitarist and dancer to put on a demonstration to offer a local taste of Andalucia, so we can't wait to see how it all comes across in the show!”

The private luxury Andalucian villas sits in serene hilltop seclusion with more than 10 acres of sculpted gardens, natural rural landscapes and a heart-stirring outdoor pool which seems to sit on the edge of the world. The estate sleeps up to 14 guests in total, inviting multi-generational groups to holiday in peaceful seclusion alongside one another in two private houses. Built on the site of a much older farmhouse, the cortijo (which means gentleman's farm in Spanish) is sympathetic to its rustic Andalucian roots but reveals modern comfort, unique sophistication and an uncompromising eye for detail.

Being chosen to feature on the Channel 4 series 'Homes by the Med' is an accolade which sits alongside the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler Gold List nominations which El Carligto has won for four years.
