The Egyptian State Tourist Office is celebrating the London 2012 Olympics with a dedicated ‘Taste of Egypt’ day on Saturday 4 August at the Africa Village, Kensington Gardens. This free event, which is open to the public will highlight and showcase Egypt as a leading tourism destination, doors from 09:00 – 22:00.
Visitors to the Africa Village on Saturday will be treated to a true ‘Taste of Egypt’ with Egyptian delicacies provided by Ali Baba Restaurant and contemporary and traditional henna tattoos courtesy of Henna Arts Camden. All day entertainment and dancing from Mico and the Arabian Theatre Company including an exciting performance from Guinness World Record holder in Whirling Dance and world-renowned Arabic dance star Shafeek Ibrahim.
Egypt is also proud to announce a special live performance from the world-renowned Egyptian musician Tarik Saeed who has shared the stage with global superstars including George Michael, Shakira and the Gorillaz.
Visitors will have the opportunity to get a chance to experience Egypt in person with four exciting competition give-aways on offer to all visitors to the stand, provided by the Fours Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Orascom and Top Deck Travel.

Arabian Dance Theatreis a dance group focused on providing Arabic dance and entertainment. Established in 2008 and producing shows for theatre, festivals, commercial, private and educational events the theatre. Highlighting the beauty, history, diversity, and depth of the Arab culture, through music and dance and creating shows that raise positive awareness of Arabic culture and society. The artistic director of the company is Egyptian Shafeek Ibrahim, a Master Arabic dance choreographer. Arabian dance theatre have been shortlisted for The Arab British Cultural and society award 2010, as well as having featured on the BBC Arabic News, Al Aribiya news, Al Alamia TV, The Daily News Egypt, Al Arab Newspaper and Asharq El Aswat. We are currently in the process of producing our fifth theatre show titled -Be Here Now.
ANOCA, the Associationof National Olympic Committees of Africa, is an association constituted among the 53 National Olympic Committees of Africa (NOCs). The association was created in Lome, Togo, on 28 June 1981.
