Olympic hero Eddie the Eagle Edwards will be visiting the Metro Ski & Snowboard show at Olympia on Wednesday 22nd October 2008.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the 1988 Winter Olympics which took place at Calgarys Canada Olympic Park. The ski jump event catapulted Eddie to worldwide fame and whilst he did not win any medals, he won the hearts of spectators across the globe and returned to the UK as a hero.

Eddie has continued to have a very keen interest in winter sports and earlier in the year travelled to the Rockies, in the Canadian Province of Alberta to discover its World-Class ski resorts of Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper. On this visit Eddie once more conquered the infamous 90 metre ski jump, this time not on skis but on a new zip line, beating 1988 Jamaican bobsleigh competitor Devon Harris!

Eddie headed next to the resorts of Sunshine Village, Mount Norquay, Lake Louise Mountain Resort and Marmot Basin in Jasper to experience Albertas champagne powder snow and to try out the slopes and facilities first hand.
