Among the quirky options on offer are:
Get climbing in Northern Portugal

Guests can fully relax in the peaceful setting and enjoy the thermal spa which is famous for its therapeutic waters. The park features numerous tree climbing challenges including suspension bridges, ropes, nets, tree-to-tree tunnels and more.

360° views on the Turkish Riviera
Imagine going to bed facing the sea and waking up facing the mountains. Boasting a prime location on the seafront, the Marmara Antalya hotel in Antalya, Turkey features revolving rooms with 360° views of the mountains and Mediterranean. The 'Revolving loft', is a 24 room building that slowly moves to reveal a constantly changing panorama of mountains, the sparkling Mediterranean and the resort's expansive grounds. The hotel claims this is the world's first and only building which turns a full 360 degrees on its foundation.
Five nights on room only basis (revolving room type), including flights from London Gatwick on 1 April 2019 costs from £494 per person. More details: https://goo.gl/WKhcYY
Stay in a 21st century chateau
Located within the medieval walls of the town of Elciego, 90 minutes from Bilbao, is the Hotel Marques De Riscal, an ultra modern luxury retreat designed by Frank Gehry.
Gehry, better know for designing the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, set out to design a 21st century chateau in the 'City of Wine' right in the heart of the Rioja wine region. The building rises nine meters above the ground and like the Guggenheim, is covered in titanium and stainless steel, although this time Gehry incorporated the colours of the winery: pink, like red wine; gold, like the mesh around Marqués de Riscal's Reserva wine bottles; and silver, like bottle caps.
Guests can enjoy a Crushed Cabernet Scrub in the spa, take a tour of the winery or explore the cellar which houses more than 8 million bottles of wine.
Three nights on bed and breakfast basis, including flights from London Stansted on 5 December currently costs £480 per person. More details: https://bit.ly/2JkwX6I
Feed your chocolate obsession
Housed in a century old building which used to be a chocolate factory, Fabrica Do Chocolate on the North Coast of Portugal is perfect for those who are more than a little obsessed with the sweet stuff.
While some rooms are themed around favourite chocolate brands, others bring to life classic stories like 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' or 'Hansel and Gretel'. It doesn't stop there - the hotel restaurant also follows the theme with tempting dishes incorporating chocolate and cocoa. Breakfast options include a speciality of the hotel – a dark cereal loaf with a deep chocolate aroma, without being sweet. At the end of a hard day sightseeing, why not call room service and enjoy a chocolate fountain, chocolate cake or chocolate coated strawberries.
The on-site museum (dedicated to chocolate of course!) occupies the entire basement of the building and offers sweet-toothed visitors everything they need to know about the history and production of chocolate. Prefer to pamper yourself with chocolate? – not a problem. Chocotherapy treatments allow guests to enjoy regenerating and nourishing treatments with both chocolate and cocoa, from exfoliation to wraps and relaxation massages.
Three nights on bed and breakfast basis, including flights from London Luton on 11 December currently costs £170 per person. More details: https://bit.ly/2O85LZL
