Easter bunnies and eggs will be much in evidence throughout the UK this Easter (3 – 5 April 2015) but there are many other fascinating customs in other countries celebrating this enduring Springtime festival.
In Sweden, children dress up as Easter Wizards delivering Easter letters to neighbours in exchange for sweets or money. Finnish children meanwhile disguise themselves as witches carrying highly decorated willow twigs and chanting traditional rhymes as they go. All designed to banish evil spirits!
Whilst in Poland, Easter Monday is known as Smigus-Dyngusov 'Wet Monday' where boys drench friends and family with buckets of water or squirt water pistols at them.
Should you wish to enjoy a different kind of Easter abroad this year, Ramblers Worldwide Holidays have some guided walking options on offer.
