Easter Fun For The Family At Floors Castle

Roxburghe Hotel and Golf

Floors Castle, located on the Roxburghe Estate in the Scottish Borders, is opening for the season on 20 April and to celebrate, will be hosting fun family activities to coincide with Easter.

Floors, which is Scotland's largest inhabited castle and home to the Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe, will be hosting various Easter activities between 11:00 and 3:00 on Sunday 20 April. This will include meeting the Easter Bunny and Easter Egg Hunts, egg & spoon and bunny hop races, magic shows, balloon modelling, a bouncy castle, face painting, games and crazy golf. Children can also bring along a decorated egg for judging and there will be a Castle BBQ hosted by the Duke of Roxburghe's own chef.

Floors is a terrific day out for families. The Castle is both informal and grand, with historic tapestries, beautiful gardens and a cafe and restaurant. Visitors who admire the superb gardens of the Estate can also enjoy the highly commended Plant Centre which sells many of the plants seen in the gardens including some unique and precious specimens. Add to that the range of sporting and country pursuits on the Estate, a luxury country house hotel and a Championship golf course, the Roxburghe Estate offers a great destination in its own right.

Located in the bustling town of Kelso, Floors Castle was built for the 1st Duke of Roxburghe in 1721, but extensively remodelled a century later and again in the 1930s.  The Castle houses many significant tapestries and paintings as well as exhibitions around the role of successive dukes in the coronation of our monarchs and some unique modern art.

The price for the Easter activities is £4 for adults, £3.50 for children and £15 for families. More information can be found online at www.roxburghe.net or by calling 01573 223 333.
