Easter bookings taken by stylish holiday specialist, Best of Suffolk are up by a record 30% compared to last year.
This bumper increase highlights the growing trend in families choosing Suffolk for their Easter holidays, rather than traveling further afield. Coastal holidays in seaside towns such as Aldeburgh and Southwold, remain popular, although a large portion of bookings favour the Suffolk countryside and the historic wool towns of Lavenham, Long Melford and Bury St Edmunds.
The agency, which has over 300 stylish holiday cottages, has recently improved it's online presence, with a new mobile and tablet-friendly website, prompting a surge in online bookings.
Naomi Tarry, who founded the agency with husband Alex, said:
“With more people choosing to spend their Easter holiday in Suffolk, it's a strong sign that 2015 is going to be a good year for Suffolk tourism. Tourism contributes £1.8 billion to the Suffolk economy a year and is an important source of employment in the county, so it's important to many individuals and businesses that it performs well.”
The fast growing agency based in Badingham, also picked up the Suffolk Coastal Community and Business Award for Encouraging Tourism this month for raising the standards of accommodation in Suffolk.
Director, Alex Tarry added: -
“We were delighted to win two awards in the past few months – we continually strive to be the best in the industry, providing a great service for both our holiday cottage owners and the customers.
