W Retreat Koh Samui and WAH Nails are preparing to set the scene alight, when they fuse the urban glamour of London with the vibrant promise of Koh Samui.
By way of W Hotels' unique Insider Experience, Sharmadean Reid, Founder of London's pioneering nail art brand, WAH Nails, is set to discover the coolest sides to Bangkok and Koh Samui – those that are usually only revealed by a local, and aren't available in the guide books. From emerging Thai fashion designers, restaurants which are creating big buzz, innovative art exhibitions, to an in-the-know version of a night on the Thai town – Sharmadean will use her customised Insider Experience as inspiration to create two exclusive EAST MEETS W-EST nail art designs, each reflecting the hottest trends in both iconic Thai destinations.
WAH began as a London-based fanzine about girls in hip-hop, championing emerging talent in music and fashion, and providing a space for a new wave of street-smart feminism. Sharmadean Reid realised the nail art she and her friends had been rocking for years was about to hit the mainstream, and after a bad experience at a local salon, decided to open one that embodied the WAH spirit. The now-cult East London brand, hailed as “the new generation”, sees customers seek its unique skills from WAH's residency in retail mecca Topshop, to global pop ups with the biggest names in the arts.
The exclusive EAST MEETS W-EST nails art with Sharmadean Reid, will be previewed to press and VIPs at both W Bangkok and WAH POP-UP at W Retreat Koh Samui. On August 17th The POP-UP nail art by WAH will be held at our newly launched, Seascape Escape, 4-bedroom villa.
