DRIVE-IN SUMMER CLIFFTOP CINEMA IS CORNWALL'S HOT TICKET FOR FAMILY FUN

MAMMA MIA HERE WE GO AGAIN!

Hands up who's looking for a fun-packed activity that will keep kids and adults alike, happy, chilled and entertained during the upcoming school summer holidays in Cornwall? Plus, it's Cornwall with no queues with a host of local street food and drink options delivered directly to your car door.

With Cornwall yet again topping all the staycation 'hotspot' lists, entering stage left is Wavelength Media's Drive-in Summer Cinema Series, which is surfing back to the Cornish coastline for the sequel to its 2020 big-screen blockbuster experience.

Premiering on Friday 16th July, the Drive-in Summer Cinema will screen favourite family flicks, as well as crowd-pleasing classics and surf movie must-sees, all set against the stunning clifftop backdrop of Watergate Bay Beach, near Newquay, North Cornwall.

The additional beauty of this unmissable attraction? It's set to make for a chilled-out experience; think live music, singalongs, socially-distanced games, plus delicious Cornish food and drink delivered directly to your (car) door so dad need not go through the pain of queuing for that much-deserved beer.

Grab the kids, pile in the motor and park up to watch The Goonies, Moana, Jurassic Park, The Lion King, Jaws, Pirates of the Caribbean, plus many more, on super-impressive LED screens overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Not forgetting the special 'Summer Sunday Singalongs', which offer the perfect opportunity to indulge in epic in-car performances of hits from The Greatest Showman, Grease and Mamma Mia to name a few.

With 21 showings taking place at 12pm and 6.45pm every Thursday through to Sunday until the curtain closes on Monday 5th September, there is plenty for families' viewing pleasure.

This ultimate drive-in event previously garnered high praise from tastemakers including Time Out Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller and Radio 2 DJ Jo Whiley so now is the time to get a slice of the action.

Guy Hayler, director of Wavelength, says, “Right now Cornwall is the holiday capital of the UK and we are creating an event series that we hope to be the talk of summer 2021 and beyond. Getting away for a well-deserved break means being organised in a way we're all still adjusting to, as local attractions and restaurants are getting booked up at pace.”

Guy continued, “With the Drive-in Summer Cinema Series, we're taking a much-loved pastime and placing it at the centre of all the things that make Cornwall great - the breath-taking landscapes, amazing street-food scene and most importantly, the people. It's all about family-friendly fun, convenience and value for money and we encourage everyone to book now to avoid disappointment. We look forward to welcoming eventgoers throughout the summer and seeing multi-generations being introduced and reacquainted with some awesome films and an unforgettable experience.”

Space is available for more than 200 vehicles per showing, with tickets priced at either £6 per person or £26 per car or van and driver, with a maximum of five people per vehicle. To view the full movie line-up and to purchase tickets, please visit the Wavelength website at https://wavelengthmag.com/drive-in-2021/line-up.

Wavelength Media is working with Cornwall Council to ensure social distancing measures are in place, along with hand sanitisers, facemasks and queuing processes and signage to be included across the event site and operational running of the sessions.
