With the first departure of their new Transylvania Tale tour only weeks away, Tucan Travel has announced the appointment of a tour leader with a rather gruesome lineage. New Transylvania Tour leader Erik Jelinek can allegedly trace his bloodline back to Dracula himself! Tucan Travel are very happy with the appointment, stating Erik has demon-strated natural leadership skills and will present Transylvania in bite-sized chunks. His regional knowledge will ensure the tour gets stake to the heart of the region.

Transylvania is an area inextricably linked to the mythical figure of Count Dracula, a fictional character commonly believed to be inspired by real life Romanian historical figure Vlad III Dracula, Erik's distant ancestor. Vlad III Dracula, also referred to as Vlad the Impaler, had a penchant for skewering his enemies on wooden stakes. This tradition is thankfully not continued by his descendants, although Erik has admitted a weakness for Shish kebab. When questioned on any other potential genetic similarities, Erik admits to hating garlic and is probably at his best after dusk.

Erik has assured Tucan Travel that tour participants will be perfectly safe and he is dying to meet them. He's looking forward to sinking his teeth into the new role and is fangful for the opportunity. He laughs off claims that he can turn into a bat and scoffs at the thought of drinking blood, preferring coffeen over bloody Mary's to get his day started.

On the tour, groups will visit both Vlad's birthplace of Sighișoara, staying within the citadel walls themselves, and Bran Castle, sometimes referred to as Dracula's Castle. Erik is quoted saying “I am looking forward to sharing my heritage with victims… I mean visitors and will do my best to show people a bloody good time.”
