Dorchester Collection hotels offer a variety of culinary offerings from speciality afternoon teas to Wolfgang Puck masterclasses.
A Vintage Afternoon Tea is available on The Balcony at The Dorchester with a menu of open finger sandwiches, traditional English cakes and warm scones with homemade jam, lemon curd, and Cornish clotted cream. The menu is accompanied by teas served in a vintage Minton china set and a glass of Laurent Perrier Vintage 2004. The Vintage Afternoon Tea is priced at £51 per person.
Coworth Park, Dorchester Collection's luxury country house hotel in Ascot, offers Sunday Feasts: a traditional Sunday lunch served in the relaxed luxury of Restaurant Coworth Park's private conservatory overlooking the hotel grounds, with poultry and game expertly carved by executive chef Brian Hughson at guests' tables. Prices start at £65 per person and guests will need to provide a minimum of 48 hours notice.
Dorchester Collection's contemporary London hotel, 45 Park Lane, will be offering guests the chance to celebrate the 86th Academy Awards in true Hollywood style. A special Red Carpet Menu has been created by Wolfgang Puck, who has not only cooked for Hollywood legends but has also hosted a dinner after the Academy Awards for the last 17 years.
The menu, which will appear as a la carte options alongside the CUT menu, will include dishes that can be ordered individually and that have been created especially for and served to Hollywood's elite at previous Academy Awards. Smoked Salmon Oscars, Thai Chicken Salad, Steamed Red Snapper, Thai Spice Chicken Pot Pie, and Black Truffles Chocolate Soufflé with Chocolate Oscars will all feature and are priced from £32 for a main course and from £11 for dessert. The Red Carpet Menu will be available at CUT and as part of the in-room dining menu from 27 February until 2 March 2014. Guests will also be able to book private dining in the Media Room to view the Academy Awards.
Alain Ducasse now oversees the food and beverage operations of Le Meurice. Ducasse leads the team at the hotel's 18th century style gastronomic restaurant as well as the contemporary Le Dalí restaurant where the spirit of the infamous surrealist is seen throughout the artistic décor. Further enhancing this Parisian landmark, Ducasse brings his innovative vision and distinctive take on contemporary French cuisine, exemplifying his philosophy of focusing on the essence of the product.
Le Richemond in Geneva has re-launched its Ski Tea to welcome the forthcoming ski season. Regional gruyère flavoured scones and sandwiches are served with steaming mugs of hot chocolate made with local Swiss chocolate, marshmallow filled coconut snowballs and chocolate fondue. The Ski Tea is priced from 50 CHF per person.
Le Richemond is delighted to announce that Le Jardin restaurant has been included in the acclaimed Gault et Milau 2014 Suiss guide. Having trained with multiple Michelin-star chef, Alain Ducasse, head chefs Sylvain Bailly and Philippe Bourrel have created an array of enticing menus for Le Jardin based on the finest local produce available to celebrate this prestigious accolade.
Hotel Bel-Air celebrates the Awards' Season with a 'Red Carpet Menu' by Wolfgang Puck. Having been selected to create menus for the season's most high-profile events for the last 20 years, the master chef's cuisine continues to be enjoyed by presenters, nominees and winners. In recognition of this, the 'Red Carpet Menu' will be served in Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air and a small bites menu inspired by the hors d'oeuvres served at the season's premier parties will be offered at the bar.
Mixology, wine, and culinary classes are also available at Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air where Puck's expert team will share the art of cocktail making, wine tasting, and meal preparation with emphasis on California's regional products. Masterclasses are offered for groups of six or more, with prices ranging from $55 to $125.
In honour of its recently restored Polo Lounge, The Beverly Hills Hotel has reintroduced afternoon tea on Fridays and Saturdays, complete with a 'tea expert' to assist guests in choosing top international tea selections, as well as alcohol infused options. The Polo Lounge's renowned entertainment offering continues with a live jazz trio to accompany brunch on Sunday, guitars and vocal entertainment for dinner, and a pianist during afternoon tea.
