Dartmouth’s 8th Comedy Festival is back in slapstick style from 4-8 March featuring among others Matt Harvey, Lucy Porter, Patrick Monahan and Sean Hughes in a series of sketches and shows at this hilarious harbour hoedown.
Blue Chip Holidays has a selection of local properties available from £10 per person per night. All tickets for the Festival can be purchased online at http://www.theflavel.org.uk
The raucous entertainment starts on Tuesday March 4th with Matt Harvey, providing an evening of comedy and poetry at Café Alf Rescos. Well known for his appearances on Saturday Live and Radio 4, Matt’s also a regular at the Edinburgh Festival.
Kicking off the bill at the Flavel is another Radio 4 regular, Lucy Porter. Her ‘Northern Soul’ show is a riot, stuffed with exquisitely crafted punch-lines and anecdotes telling of the everyday and why she’s never felt she belongs down south. She tried moving to Manchester, marrying a Welshman and travelling the world, but she’s yet to find home.
On the Wednesday night March 5th, the festival has a brilliant double bill featuring Carl Donnelly and Romesh Ranganathan, both nominated for awards at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe.
On Thursday March 6th, impressionist Luke Kempner brings his sell-out Edinburgh debut show to the Flavel performing his parody show ‘The Only Way is Downton’.
On Friday March 7th the riotous comedy troupe Slightly Fat Features are back. A cross between Monty Python and Cirque du Soleil a ticket will entitle you to gawk at their astonishing skills like tiger taming, motorbike madness, bullet catching and knife throwing!
On Saturday 8th,, the final day of the festival, Tiernan Douieb presents his fab kids show - “All you ever need to know about EVERYTHING!” including why you can’t run with scissors and how the bubbles get into fizzy drinks.
Finally, closing the festival in slapstick style is the effervescent Sean Hughes, with his show ‘Penguins’. Sean whisks us back to his teenage days of utter awkwardness in Dublin in a brilliant and multi layered show.
Blue Chip Holidays has fourteen properties available over the Festival starting from just £70 per person (£10 pppn) staying at Wells Park Barn, a delightful 5-star rated, 4 bedroom barn for eight, set within the rural charm of Stoke Fleming.
