The Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Tourism, jointly with tourism-related companies and international hotel chains will participate in the World Travel Market 2013 Fair, to be held in London from November 4-7.
The event will be held in Docklands Excel, and internationally renowned hotels will participate, such as: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, Occidental Hotels & Resort, Bahia Principe Hotels & Resort, VIK Hotels Group, Blue Diamond Hotels & Resorts and Caribbean Nexus Tour.
Other resorts and tourism partners include; Viva Wyndham Resorts, Majestic Resorts, Olympus Tours, Also Hotels & Resorts, Sanctuary Cap Cana, AERODOM Siglo XXI, La Romana’s International Airport, Casa de Campo, and the Banco Popular Dominicano.
The Dominican Republic will feature a 184-square meter stand (no. CA305). Visitors will receive tastings of Dominican rum, coffee and chocolate. It will also showcase their annual vibrant carnival, with one of their colourful carnival masks during World Travel Market to celebrate their annual Carnival.
The character to be depicted, is called "Diablo Cojuelo" and is the main attraction at the "La Vega Carnival", which is the most popular of the carnivals held in Dominican Republic. Carnival also takes place in other towns such as Santiago, Santo Domingo and Bonao.
