Dolphin Discovery Cozumel celebrated fifteen years of providing guests with educational and fun experiences with dolphins with a celebration in the island’s International cruse ship pier on September 13 with special guests, cocktails and a special reception at the dolphinarium.

As part of the celebration, a special welcoming of the millionth visitor took place when the lucky person arrived as part of the call Allure of the Seas ship from Royal Caribbean International. The winner received a special VIP transfer to Dolphin Discovery Cozumel as well as a lifetime swim with the dolphin certificate for all of the group’s location throughout Mexico and the Caribbean Islands. Many of the location’s employees have been with the company since it opened and they were also recognized with a special reception.

Dolphin Discovery Cozumel is located in the Chankanaab National Park, a conservation area located in the heart of Cozumel and was created to protect the fauna and flora species unique to the island. A unique characteristic of this location is that all the 24 dolphins in this dolphinarium were born under human care. This is possible thanks to the successful and worldwide recognized breeding program “Miracle.” 

Ranked among the top dolphinariums in the world, Dolphin Discovery is an organizational member of the International Marine Animal Trainers Association IMATA, and the Cozumel facility is also a member of the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums AMMPA.
