**Recent research conducted by Travelodge revealed annually UK companies are wasting over 1.3 billion on unnecessary and extravagant business trips. 84% of UK employees take over 14 million overnight domestic business trips each year. 38% of businesses regularly stay in extortionately priced 4 or 5 star hotels. Whilst 11% of UK businesses spend less than 50 per night on accommodation and only 18% will stay in budget accommodation.

Booking budget accommodation would certainly address the issue of excessive spending. If companies were to book Travelodges 26 a night rooms, the saving among UK businesses would exceed 900 million.

According to Guy Parsons, Sales and Marketing Director for Travelodge, The UK economy shouldnt have to take such an unbelievable financial hit. Businesses need to set smart spend guidelines to tell their employees that booking an outrageously priced 4 or 5 star hotel just isnt necessary, particularly when all thats needed is a bed for the night. Lets face it; all hotel rooms are the same with the lights off. We Brits are typically cautious with our personal finances and we should apply that same mentality to our spend at work.

All Travelodge hotels offer a choice of either a double, family or disabled room, each offering a comfortable setting with en-suite bathroom, luxury king size bed, colour TV with in-room entertainment which offers pay on demand movies, telephone and Internet services and free tea and coffee making facilities. On site car parking is provided at most Manchester hotel sites.

All hotels offer a breakfast bag service, which can be delivered to your door between 5am to 7am. The Breakfast bag contains a selection of goodies for 4.45. At hotels with a Bar Caf a full English breakfast menu is available -eat as much as you like at 6.50 per head. A full range of drinks, tasty snacks and evening meals are available from the Bar Caf.

Travelodge has invested heavily within the Greater Manchester region this year with the opening of five new hotels. A, 2 million refurbishment at Manchester Central Travelodge, which includes a new Bar Caf, reception area and bedroom decoration. Within the new developments Travelodge is opening a 201-bedroom hotel at Manchester airport in December 2005.
