Discover Your Wild Side at Miami's Jungle Island

Jungle Island

MIAMI – Jungle Island, South Florida's popular landmark attraction, invites guests to embark on Miami's greatest hands-on wildlife adventure. Combining the beauty of a tropical landscape with a jungle full of 450 extraordinary animals from around the globe, Jungle Island is South Florida's contemporary theme park, with attractions and exhibits for the entire family.

Some of Jungle Island's most famous animal residents include J.J., the highly intelligent Spanish-speaking cockatoo; Mama Cass, the only tame Cassowary on the planet; and Vulcan, the brother of Hercules, a liger who holds the Guinness World Records for World's Largest Cat. Two of the park's most popular residents are Pumpkin and Peanut, one of the only sets of Orangutan twins to ever be born into human care. In July 2012, Peanut was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and became the first in the world to be treated with aggressive chemotherapy just like a human.

With so much to do, guests can enjoy any of the shows and presentations such as the world-renowned “Winged Wonders,” with its dynamic performing birds including a free-flying Andean Condor; the “Wild Encounter” show, which features a wide array of tigers, capuchin monkeys, and gibbons; and “Wild Adventures,” a presentation that takes an audience full of research assistants on a wild safari adventure through the animal kingdom to meet animals from around the globe from a baby warthog to an alligator snapping turtle; kinkajous and African penguins.

Guests, who are really seeking an adventure and up-close-and-personal encounters with some of the world's most rare animals, can embark on a series of behind-the-scenes VIP tours. The privately guided excursions grant special access to the park's most fascinating exhibits and personal interactions with everything from primates to birds to reptiles, and much more. The tours also include park admission and gift shop discount.
