DC's Wine Country
With more than 40 wineries and tasting rooms, Loudoun is a premier wine region on the east coast and leading the way in Virginia, which has been designated as one of the 10 Best Wine Travel Destinations by Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Known as DC's Wine Country due to its proximity to Washington D.C., Loudoun's wineries are nestled within winding roads, horse farms and historic estates. Our boutique wineries house tasting rooms in everything from rustic barns and intimate cellars to architecturally stunning facilities. During a visit, indulge in tastings, tours, food pairings and conversation with winemakers crafting award-winning wines.
What's new in wine country: In 2015, three of Loudoun's largest wineries will open new expanded facilities. Stone Tower Winery, Breaux Vineyards and Chrysalis Vineyards will all open state-of-the-art building additions, complete with tasting rooms, outdoor seating, meeting and wedding space. Chrysalis' expansion also includes a new “Ag District,” which spans 400 acres and connects visitors to Loudoun's rich agricultural scene. Working with Locksley Estate Farmstead Cheese Company, Chrysalis will now include a cheese production facility and a futuristic-style tasting room where technology will connect visitors with tastings and information about the wines digitally.
