Did you know that Flevoland is one of the Netherlands' largest open tulip fields? Driving across Flevoland in spring you will hardly believe your eyes: on the tulip fields you will be at sea on an ocean of vivid colour.
By car, foot or bike
Whether you like to drive, prefer to walk or to mount your bike, there are numerous ways to admire the beautiful bloom of our stunning tulip fields. Four car routes, four cycling routes and two walking routes have been set out specifically for your pleasure.
Golden Age
The routes are all themed around the Dutch Golden Age. The tulip played a significant role in this period. Many routes are easy to tie in with visiting various agricultural companies and other activities involving tulips. The routes can be followed from 13 April to and including 5 May.
A helicopter view of the tulip fields
There are a host of tulip activities to indulge in. Visit the Tulip picking garden for example. Or be amazed at the tulip show garden boasting its 460 types of tulips. Anything is possible. Fancy a helicopter- or balloon flight above the tulip fields?
