WITH LATIN AMERICA EASIER TO REACH THAN EVER, COX & KINGS LAUNCHES ITS 2017 BROCHURE WITH NEW TOURS AND A FOCUS ON LUXURY
With the introduction of direct British Airways flights from the UK to Peru, Costa Rica and Chile, Latin America will be easier than ever to reach in 2017 – and it couldn't have come at a better time. With new luxury trains, hotels and experiential excursions being launched, Cox & Kings has brought these services together in their latest Latin America brochure in new and revamped tours to Peru, Costa Rica, Brazil, Central America and more, with a new solo travellers group tour to Chile & Argentina.
Cox & Kings' Latin America product manager Vessela Baleva says, “Latin America has long been a favourite destination for Cox &Kings clients, and we're expecting this popularity will increase even more with the ease of access. For 2017 we have included newly launched hotels, trains and excursions that will appeal to adventurous luxury travellers – including the new Belmond Andean Explorer in Peru and hot air ballooning over the Atacama Desert in Chile”.
PERU: Peru remains one of Cox & Kings' bestselling destinations and the Train to Machu Picchu tour is its bestselling escorted tour to Peru only. Starting from May 2017 to coincide with the launch of the Belmond Andean Explorer overnight train, the 2017 itinerary will also include British Airways direct flights to the capital of Lima. The 16 day / 14 night tour is priced from £2,795 per person twin share. The tour also includes an Inti Raymi festival departure on the 14th June 2017.
The revamped Peru in Luxury private tour includes direct flights with British Airways, an overnight ride on the Belmond Andean Explorer from Puno to Cuzco and a stay in luxury Titilaka, a secluded lodge on a private peninsula in Lake Titicaca. The 11 day / 9 night tour is priced from £3,895 per person twin share.
As the only luxury overnight train in Latin America launching in May 2017, the new and stylish Belmond Andean Explorer offers one of the most scenic rail journeys between Arequipa, Lake Titicaca and Cuzco, with spectacular views of mountains and the altiplano. This sleeper train offers 1- or 2-night itineraries with comfortable private cabins, fresh three-course meals on board and some guided excursions en route.
NEW: BRAZIL
The 11 day / 9 night group tour to Brazil, Wildlife & Waterfalls, includes just that – a focus on the spectacular and diverse natural wonders of Brazil. Beginning in Brasilia travellers are whisked to the Pantanal to spot monkeys, capybaras, giant anteaters and a variety of birds, before experiencing the thundering waters of Iguacu Falls. The tour ends in unmissable Rio, the recent host of the Olympic Games. The tour is priced from £2,695 per person twin share.
NEW: SOLO TRAVELLERS: CHILE & ARGENTINA
With interest in solo travellers group tours rising, Cox & Kings has introduced Wonders of Chile & Argentina, an itinerary that visits the highlights of both countries. Using British Airways direct flights to Santiago, travellers enjoy a welcome dinner and activities in the capital before exploring spectacular Torres del Paine. Clients then take a scenic Andean lake crossing from Puerto Varas in Chile over to Argentina, ending in the lively capital of Buenos Aires. The 15 day / 12 night tour is priced from £4,295 per person and includes single occupancy in twin/double rooms, welcome and farewell dinners and group activities.
NEW: COSTA RICA & PANAMA
With Costa Rica remaining a popular choice for travellers and Panama located close by, Cox & Kings has launched the Natural Wonders of Panama and Costa Rica private journey. The tour combines the best of both countries with a stay in the rainforest of Panama and a cruise on the Panama Canal, with a visit to the coffee country, primary rainforest and volcanoes of Costa Rica. The tour is priced from £2,995 per person twin share.
The solo travellers group tour in Costa Rica has also been extended for 2017 to include Panama and a cruise through the locks of the Panama Canal. NOTE TO EDITORS
Cox & Kings is the world's longest established travel company. Its history stretches back more than 250 years to 1758 when Richard Cox was appointed regimental agent to the Footguards (later the Grenadier Guards). The company's fortunes grew hand in hand with the British empire and by the early 20th century the company was acting as agent and banker throughout the armed forces and as a shipping agent. In 1922 Cox & Co merged with the Henry S King bank, which had strong connections with India. The bank became part of Lloyds and the shipping agency grew separately, evolving into the modern travel company.
Today, built on the high quality service and attention to detail established by Richard Cox in the 18th century, the company continues to flourish as an independent tour operator, with operations in London, the US, Japan, Australia and throughout India. Cox & Kings organises escorted small-group tours and private tailor-made travel in the Indian Subcontinent, Latin America, the Middle East, the Far East, Africa, Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, and the Caribbean.
