Elba Spring & Summer Events

• Walking Festivals: In spring and autumn, this enchanting island of high granite cliffs, shady forests, sandy beaches and private coves, organises two walking festivals – one in the Spring and the other in the Autumn – for visitors to get to see the very best of this island.    So why not try out some of the walks that they have created in the beautiful national parks to be found on Elba when staying with Powder Byrne at our two luxury hotels, Biodola & Hermitage overlooking  the stunning Biodola Bay.  With miles of well marked walks to be found, it is a walker's paradise.
• Celebrate 200 years of the bicycle: If wheels are preferred to feet, then try some cycling on the many cycle routes to be found, enabling you to venture further afield to explore the island on two wheels.  And what better way to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the bicycle, due to be celebrated in June 2017.
• Iron Tour Italy 2017: If watching others do all the work is more to your taste, then the gruelling Iron Tour Italy 2017, comprising of 5 Triathalon events, in 5 villages over 5 days -which takes place on Elba from 27th to  31st May -  showcases one of the hardest competitive events to be found on this planet.   Watch the swimming, cycling and running events from the cliffs above Marciano and Portoferraio for a birds-eye view of this incredible event.

• With so much to choose from, you really can get right away from your digital screens - and while you are taking your own digital detox, your kids will be having the time of their lives in one of Powder Byrne's exclusive  programmes operating during May half term;  from general active and creative programmes for kids from 3 months to 12 years, to specific sport and adventure academies for children from 7 right through to teenage years.  With the superb tennis and football facilities, there is considerable focus on these sports in our programmes run by our own accredited coaches.  We also offer specific Tennis and Football Academies for kids wishing to focus specifically on honing their skills in these sports.  The watersports available from the hotels also form part of our kids programmes and we offer a specific       PB SCUBA  Academy for kids (and adults too)  to learn the basic skills of diving in the safety of the hotel's pool as well as offering an introduction to boat diving. 

Rest, relaxation and fine dining with Powder Byrne

• Of course, when staying at our hotels, it doesn't have to be all about high octane activity – you must make time for some pure relaxation by the pool, on the beach or in the hotels' wonderful spa facilities.
• If gastronomy is important when on holiday, there are some amazing restaurants to try at the Hermitage and Biodola hotels.
