This summer, the 5-star family-run Calabash Grenada Hotel Resort and Spa (www.calabashhotel.com) is offering a range of packages tailor-made to suit every guest from cookery weeks to health, activity and romance breaks.

The hotel consists of a pretty necklace of villas strung round a perfect sandy bay. It also boasts the island’s two best restaurants - Rhodes Restaurant (of Gary Rhodes fame) and Bash Restaurant by Mark B (currently Grenada’s number one restaurant on Trip Advisor).  All the packages below include unlimited non-motorised watersports as well as use of the fitness centre and floodlit tennis courts.

Cookery weeks (available June 1 - July 31). Grenada is known as the isle of spice and the culinary weeks explore the source of the island’s produce with afternoon tea and a tour of L’esterre Plantation, a Grenada Chocolate & Belmont Plantation Tour with 3-course lunch, as well as a morning visit to the local market with Rhodes’ restaurant’s legendary chef, Dexter Burris. There will also be demonstrations by its two top chefs, focussing on using Grenada’s natural ingredients and spices to create world-class dishes. Chef Mark B will lead the Grenadian tapas demonstration which will be followed by his specially designed lunch tasting menu. Dexter meanwhile will create local dishes that will be samples at dinner. Both tasting menus will be accompanied by Calabash’s hand-picked house wines.  

The following packages are available June 1 - Oct 31 2014:

Actively relax. The ‘Pure Grenada’ 7-day package features a half-day bike tour, half-day kayak tour, and two Heaven and Earth full-body massages.

The Romance Package features a welcome cocktail and complimentary suite upgrade, a couple’s massage and sunset boat cruise (+ tailor-made breakfasts served by your private maid on your own balcony or patio).

The Clean Living package commences with a consultation with the hotel chef in which  your  ‘healthy living menu’ will be personally designed.  There’s a one-hour private yoga session and one-hour tennis lesson, a reflexology session and Heaven & Earth full-body massage.

Just Grenada (www.justgrenada.co.uk;  01373 814214) features all the above packages on a b & b basis (tailor-made and served daily on your balcony or patio by your personal maid) plus flights with BA or Virgin, VIP lounge passes for Gatwick prior to departure and private transfers in Grenada.  Prices range from £1495 per person for Pure Grenada and Romance Package to £1595 for Clean Living and £1645 for the Cookery Weeks.  The prices are all based on two people booking the package and sharing a suite.
