Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport's new Group Zone, the first of its kind at any airport in the Americas, gives large groups their own unique space to communicate itinerary information and other details while waiting for their next flight. This amenity specifically caters to the MICE (Meetings/Incentives/Conferences/Exhibitors) travel market or large group travelers who often connect at least once to their end destination.
“The MICE market is among one of the fastest growing travel sectors in the world and DFW is looking to enhance the passenger experience for all travelers coming through our Airport.” says Ken Buchanan, Executive Vice President of Revenue Management at DFW International Airport.
The Group Zone is located inside security in Terminal B and has over 8,000 square feet of space to accommodate groups of up to 200 people. The space is also equipped to store luggage with a group member allowing others to shop or dine in-terminal at more than 200+ shops and restaurants.
“The feedback we received from some of our tour operators and travel agents indicated that they would like to have a space that they could utilize without having to leave the secure side of the airport,” says Sharon McCloskey, VP Marketing. “The Group Zone has given us another item in our already diverse portfolio of products to accommodate the more than 55 million passengers that pass through our airport every year.”
Booking of the Group Zone can be done online by simply visiting www.dfwairport.com/groupzone to fill out the online form to reserve space. The space will hold groups of 20 to 200 people and is available 24 hours a day seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Highlighting other new additions made available in 2013 are Minute Suites and the American Express Centurion Lounge, both in Terminal D, where passengers can relax, unwind and refresh before they continue on their journey.
These new features, combined with The Club at DFW, American Airlines Admirals Club and DFW's consistent ranking as one of the best airports in the world for customer service, promise to make a trip through Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport a highly enjoyable and productive experience.
