Destination NSW CEO Sandra Chipchase has announced that Ms Simonne Shepherd has been appointed as the organisation’s new General Manager-Industry Partnerships and Government Policy.
“I am delighted to welcome someone with such excellent credentials and outstanding track record of success to our organisation,” Ms Chipchase said. “We are at a critical stage in our evolution and the Industry Partnerships team, which is our largest, leads our core business development activities with the domestic and international travel trade and works closely with multiple Government partners on policy development.”
“Ms Shepherd has extensive senior executive experience. Her most recent role was as CEO of Canberra Tourism where she led the tourism and major events activity for the ACT. She has worked both in private enterprise and government for organisations such as The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Fiji Visitors Bureau, Tourism Victoria and the Canadian Tourism Commission. Her wealth of experience and her impeccable network will greatly assist us in driving the change management program for our organisation and the industry”.
