Expo Milano 2015 is the World Exhibition in Milan dedicated to the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. It will deal with the wide range of issues associated with human nutrition, both in terms of the quality of food and the supply of food for everyone.
From May to October, the Expo will host over 130 participant countries in a giant exhibition site, covering one million square meters. The temporary Pavilions will create a temporary city designed by the most important designers in the world.
“Design the Expo” will be a unique journey around the majestic temporary city and the real city to discover the most advanced concepts of urban living displayed around the city for this unforgettable event.

Geared to those who wish to approach the world of Italian fashion, this creative experience is a path guiding students through the uniqueness of Italian taste for fashion.
The course will alternate lectures with visits to the best of fashion spots located in Milan: showrooms, fashion exhibitions, flagship and concept stores, cult places for cool hunters.
It will provide an absorbing experience helping students develop passion, curiosity and a broad vision of the fashion world. Students will be able to explore and analyze the unique reality of fashion in Milan and present it properly through a personal project.

This course aims at demonstrating how the idea of “design” is closely connected with the core of Italian creativity.
These aspects will be examined by considering several cultural, social, artistic and industrial elements. The course will dig down to the heart of Italian design values, alternating lectures with visits.
Students will be able to explore and analyze the unique reality of design in Milano (features, history, and outlook) and present it properly through a personal project.

FOOD DESIGN

Food Design is the pre-ordination of everything having to do with food, in terms of design, style and planning. It is tied both to industrial production and classic design (packaging, shape, colour of the food), as well as to a cultural and visual element.
Students will analyze food from an aesthetic, communicative and representative point of view through forms, colours and combinations of flavours and smells.
The course will consist of lectures, visits to concept stores and brief design workshops.
Participants will be asked to create a final project.
