Washington D.C. (June 7, 2017) – Denver tourism officials revealed plans today to showcase The Mile High City's hot culinary, music, craft beer, arts and cultural scenes at the 50th anniversary of IPW in Denver next year. Official familiarization tours after IPW also will bring delegates to key tourism hot spots across the state of Colorado.

“IPW is the most significant annual international marketplace in the U.S., so it is a great honor for Denver to host this important travel industry event,” said Richard Scharf, president & CEO of VISIT DENVER, the Convention & Visitors Bureau. “This is a wonderful opportunity to promote our city on a global stage and enhance our international tourism efforts.”

As one of America's fastest growing cities, Denver has evolved to become a world-class international tourism destination. Beyond its well-known reputation as a gateway to the Rocky Mountains, Denver offers highly acclaimed museums and attractions, the second largest cultural and performing arts complex in the country, top-rated restaurant and craft beer scenes, the renowned Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, and the sixth busiest airport in the U.S. offering global accessibility from 23 international destinations.

Consistently named among America's best places to live, Denver also has become one of the most popular urban travel destinations in the U.S. earning acclaim among America's hottest cities for its restaurants, cultural scene, walkability, and outdoor activities, among other things.

“IPW 2018 delegates will be pleased to find they can travel by train from Denver International Airport directly to downtown Denver Union Station and experience a vibrant, walkable and active city with about 10,000 hotel rooms within walking distance of the Colorado Convention Center, IPW's 2018 host venue,” said Scharf.

Putting on an event like IPW couldn't be possible without the Colorado Tourism Office, Denver International Airport, Ski Country USA and the many tourism partners throughout the state. Dozens of resort and destination marketing organizations from across Colorado will be supporting and participating in this one-of-a-kind showcase.
