Delicious Autumn Break At The Priory Inn, Tetbury - In The Heart Of The Cotswolds

The Priory Inn

Autumn is The Priory Inn's favourite season: with the leaves alight at nearby Westonbirt Arboretum, the kitchen team has an abundance of Cotswolds fayre to create the ultimate Autumn menu…

As the days shorten and the leaves start to fall, The Priory Inn, Tetbury – a family-friendly hotel, restaurant in the heart of the Cotswolds – is offering a “Delicious Autumn” break, which includes tickets to our National Arboretum at Westonbirt to see the greatest natural fireworks display!

The Priory Inn director and co-owner, Tanya Kelly says: “Who needs Autumn in New England when you can experience the best blazing leaf displays here at Westonbirt Arboretum? We want visitors to Tetbury to indulge their senses this Autumn: become immersed in the “Colour Circle” - planted in the mid 1800s for holding annual champagne 'colour parties'; breathe the air scented with mouth-watering caramel from the Katsura trees; and marvel at the kaleidoscope of colours provided by the Japanese maples, beeches, Tulip trees, spindles and hickory.”

And, when your senses have been overwhelmed visually and your legs are weary, you can return to our walk-around open fire, relax with a pichet of wine or pint of local ale and let your taste-buds run riot. We are totally committed to buying food and drink from within a 30 mile radius of Tetbury, so Autumn is a joy for us! Right here on our Cotswolds doorstep, we have a natural larder overflowing with the highest quality local produce. So, what better time of year to come and sample the result of local artisans' dedication to their trade: dairy farmers turned cheese makers; speciality organic flour millers; the finest fruit and vegetable growers; expert bee-keepers and hedgerow jam makers; gamekeepers that share recipes at the kitchen door; artisans devoted to a handful of English vines creating award-winning sparkling wines; and, farmers who take great pride in their animals' welfare and meat quality. We get a kick out of showcasing the fruits of their hard work by developing dishes which allow the flavours to speak for themselves”

The Priory Inn “Delicious Autumn” package costs just £149.00 per room per night between Sunday and Thursday (£74.50 per person) and £175.00 per room per night (£87.50 per person) on Friday and Saturdays. These prices are based on 2 people sharing a room and include an unrestricted three course dinner, full English breakfast and tickets for 2 people to Westonbirt Arboretum.

The family-friendly Priory Inn is the ever-popular heart of the charming market town of Tetbury in The Cotswolds.  It has worked within a “30 Mile Food Zone**” since November 2008 which demonstrates its unwavering commitment to serving local food and drink from farms, producers and suppliers within a 30 mile radius of Tetbury. Local gardeners regularly contribute to the “Barter-at-the-Back-Door” scheme bringing baskets of home-grown produce or fruit and exchanging it for vouchers. The house wine is served in hand-thrown pichets from a nearby pottery and the big brand names behind the bar have been thrown out in favour of local lagers, ciders, wheat beer and stout. The restaurant has gained a strong following for live acoustic music every Sunday night and gourmet pizzas fresh from the wood-fired oven. The restaurant is welcoming to all members of the family, with a special children's menu (including “make your own pizza”), highchairs, a toy box and colouring to keep any fidgets busy! Monitors work from bedrooms to the ground floor, so parents staying at the hotel can relax over dinner, safe in the knowledge that their little ones are tucked up in bed – or of course babysitters can be arranged.

The owners of The Priory have years of hospitality experience between them, working in and launching high profile hotel and restaurant establishments in New York, London and Hertfordshire.

The Priory Inn is situated in Tetbury, a beautiful market town in the heart of the Cotswolds which is one of the most important antiques centres in the UK.  It is 2 miles from the Royal home of Highgrove.  The hotel has 14 ensuite contemporary bedrooms
