Blenheim Palace is the perfect destination for an outdoor family outing this summer.
The Oxfordshire UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts beautiful Formal Gardens and 2,000 acres of stunning 'Capability' Brown landscaped Parkland whilst also having an extensive and exciting events schedule.
Created over the centuries for the Dukes of Marlborough by esteemed garden designers such as Henry Wise and Achille Duchêne, the Formal Gardens reflect a journey through the styles of the ages.
Set around the 18th century baroque Palace, they include the majestic Water Terraces, the Duke's Private Italian Garden, the tranquil Secret Garden with all of its hidden treasures and the beautifully delicate Rose Garden.
Fans of history also have the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of Sir Winston Churchill in the Memorial Garden, including taking in the Temple of Diana, where he proposed to future wife, Clementine Hozier.
The estate also offers an array of walks ranging in length from under a mile to nearly five miles and incorporate the iconic Grand Bridge, the lake and the Queen Pool, most are accessible for wheelchairs and buggies and many are also dog-friendly.
Visitors can also take the Miniature Train from the Palace for a little adventure in the Walled Garden which is perfect family fun.
The small play area is open for children to enjoy, with the Pizza Café serving refreshments on the outdoor terrace for a spot of lunch.
Guests can explore the Butterfly House and Marlborough Maze at their own pace and attempt to find the missing worker bees for hours of family entertainment.
