Shoppers encouraged to “Shop, Hop & Slumber” in Torrance this holiday season
Nothing says ‘holiday’ like shopping – and beer. At least that’s the case starting Nov. 4 through Jan. 6 for Torrance, Calif., located nine miles south of LAX in the coveted South Bay region. “Shop Hops & Slumber Fest,” a holiday campaign spearheaded by Discover Torrance Visitors Bureau, found a niche to capitalize on a hot trend, local tap houses, maximized by shopping at the fifth largest mall in the US and its hotels for a complete stay, shop and play package.
The concept is simple. Book a room during the promotion and automatically receive a “Shop Hop & Slumber Fest” kit that includes a shopping tote for trips to the Del Amo Fashion Center, a beer mug and a sleep kit with eye mask, ear plugs and more. Participating hotels are offering special rates and added value to make an overnight shopping stay a no-brainer. The Del Amo Fashion Center, with plans for expansion including the addition of Nordstrom’s, offers variety and ease of access for shoppers.
With several locally brewed tap houses and restaurants serving up craft beers, Torrance is a hot spot for experiencing a variety of beer options. Breweries include Red Car Brewery & Restaurant, the brewery that started it all and three tap houses – Monkish Brewing, Smog City Brewing and Strand Brewing. Additionally, LA Beer Hop is participating with a discount special.
The program also includes an enter to win a $1000 shopping spree, two nights’ accommodations, beer tasting and dinner at Red Car Brewery & Restaurant and two free passes for an LA Beer Hop tour in Torrance. Sweepstakes allows anyone to enter online via the Torrance Facebook page.
