25 Feb 2015
Forget chocolate eggs, fondant fancies or violet creams - it's strictly 'violent screams' at The London Dungeon this Easter as guests are dared to risk Death by Chocolate. Meet the deadly Miss Edmunds, a charming young lady with a poisonous nature, who is setting up her toxic sweet shop from Saturday, March 28 to Sunday, April 12 2015. No fluffy bunnies or cheeping chicks here – this is an Easter outing for families who like their entertainment with more strychnine than saccharine and particularly good for those with hard to please teens.
Enter Miss Edmunds Victorian Sweetie Shoppe with shelves ladened with jar upon jar of colourful candies and lip-licking confectionary. But beware... the beautiful Miss Edmunds is actually one of the most notorious poisoners in history and likes to lace her treats with some very unusual ingredients. Guests who take up her challenge to play 'chocolate roulette' could end up with a mouthful of chilli, mustard powder... or even Strychnine!
And as a very special London Dungeon's Easter gift, every guest on the first tour of the Easter holiday period will receive a limited edition box of Miss Edmunds' Violent Screams. A delicious assortment of soft centred chocolates... they may leave an interesting after taste*
Those who make it out of the sweet shop should not expect a sweeter experience beyond as they make their way into the depths of the Dungeon where 1000 years of London's murky past lies in store with more murderous rogues on the loose - from Jack the Ripper, to Guy Fawkes and Sweeney Todd, plus plenty of edge of the seat surprises and two thrilling rides.
Book ahead to avoid disappointment at www.thedungeons.com/london.

Note to Editors: THE REAL MISS EDMUNDS
As all the stories told in the London Dungeon, Death by Chocolate is inspired by true events and the character of Miss Edmunds is based upon a real person. Christiana Edmunds was sent to Broadmoor Criminal Lunatic Asylum in 1872 found guilty of a poisoning spree, which left prominent citizens of Brighton violently ill after consuming chocolates she had laced with Strychnine. She died there, unrepentant, in 1907.
