The Hotelier Awards China made its debut on Thursday 11th December 2014 where The Langham Shanghai, Xintiandi's Daphne Li was among the 16 hoteliers to take home one of the accolades. The ceremony honored the dedicated professionals of the hotel industry.

Over 300 hoteliers and industry professionals gathered in the grand ballroom of The Langham Shanghai, Xintiandi as they watched Daphne receive the “Health Club & Spa Hotelier of the Year” award.

Daphne Li has worked in both the hospitality and well-being industry for 23 years. Working for the very first spa that opened in Shanghai, she was able to learn the fundamentals of the spa business. As Director of Spa, Daphne goes above and beyond when it comes to providing service to her clients and training her staff with the Chuan Spa philosophy.

In addition, Ms. Lydia Zhu, Human Resources Director of The Langham, Shanghai, Xintiandi, won the 'Runner-up of Human Resources Hotelier of the year'. Director of Engineering of the hotel won the 'Runner-up of Technology Hotelier of the year'.   Mr. Lazio Zuo of Food & Beverage Department was nominated for The Unsung Hero of the year as well.

This inaugural year, The Hotelier Awards received close to 300 applications from over 100 properties

from 44 different brands. Winners of each category were decided by a panel of independent experts through a two-round process and based on a combination of facts presented in the application, interviews, and testimonials. The judge panel was comprised of experts who, between them, hold a wide plethora of industry specific skills and knowledge.
