Get ready to leave the everyday behind and embark on an unforgettable journey through the dreamlike landscapes of Western Australia in a new global tourism campaign featuring West Australian Formula 1 superstar Daniel Ricciardo.
Supported by the WA Government and delivered by Tourism WA, ‘Drive the Dream’ invites travellers to explore Western Australia as the ultimate destination for a road trip adventure.
The new campaign is led by globally recognised, Perth born and raised Daniel Ricciardo, Formula 1 driver with Red Bull owned Alpha Tauri.
Drive the Dream is a follow up to last year’s launch of WA’s new global tourism brand ‘Walking On A Dream’, and highlights Daniel Ricciardo’s recent adventure road tripping from Perth (Boorloo) to Exmouth (Warnangoora) along the Coral Coast Highway with his best mate Blake. Their experience exploring the diverse and picturesque landscapes and reconnecting on the open road is captured in a short film for the campaign.
Daniel and Blake’s unforgettable road trip adventure sees them traversing the otherworldly hues of pink lake Hutt Lagoon, gazing at billion-star skies at an outback station stay, experiencing the World Heritage listed slice of paradise in Shark Bay (Gutharraguda) and the exhilaration of swimming with majestic whale sharks in the pristine waters of Ningaloo Reef (Nyinggulu) - another World Heritage listed gem.
With more than 10,000 km of spectacular coastline, Aboriginal cultural experiences representing 60,000 years of tradition, and unique flavours crafted by earth and sea, a road trip is the best way to explore Western Australia’s nature and wildlife encounters. As Australia’s largest state, it’s always sunny somewhere and ripe for exploring the otherworldly textures and supernatural colour contrasts that make up Western Australia’s ancient landscape.
