Australia's leading travel and pharmacy business-to-business news provider, the Business Publishing Group (BPG), has appointed senior Mumbrella executive Damian Francis to the newly created role of Editorial Director.
Francis joins the company with two decades of print and digital media experience as well as strong expertise in events, public relations and content curation, having led the content and events teams at Mumbrella for more than five years.
His appointment follows the recent major private equity investment in the Business Publishing Group, which publishes respected industry titles including Travel Daily, Cruise Weekly, Pharmacy Daily, travelBulletin and Travel & Cruise Weekly.
Francis will report to the group's new General Manager, Davy Adams, and will oversee the expanding Business Publishing Group team of experienced journalists and content creators.
BPG Publisher Bruce Piper welcomed Francis to the team, saying the appointment continued the growth which was being unlocked under the company's new ownership structure. “I look forward to working alongside Damian to continue our news and content leadership as well as exploring new opportunities, as we continue to take the business to the next level,” he said.
BPG General Manager Davy Adams said “I am excited to be working with Damian. We are already looking at new products and ways of engaging with our travel and pharmacy audiences.”
Francis said joining BPG was a fantastic opportunity. “It's been impressive to watch Bruce and Jenny build the business from afar. With the new ownership structure and investment, I am looking forward to working closely with Davy and the team to provide the best coverage of the travel and pharmacy industries," he added.
