Customized Shopping Experiences for Travelers with Westfield Travel Collection

Westfield Travel Collection

New retail, high-tech innovations, the latest cuisine and significant renovations are debuting at Westfield Travel Collection Centers in California, New Jersey and New York City's Westfield World Trade Center in 2016.  Customized shopping experiences incorporating premium service is the signature of all of the Westfield Travel Collection Centers.

The Westfield Travel Collection has set a new standard for a guest experience that offers the best in shopping, dining and entertainment. Special programs and services for visitors are available at each location. The program showcases leading shopping Westfield centers in California and New York/New Jersey. Here is a preview of what's new and a look at some of the plans for the future:

Major Renovations

Westfield Century City, Los Angeles is undergoing a refined $800 million vision to become a landmark destination truly international in impact and scale. A new premier fashion anchor, top luxury boutiques and global showrooms for the world's finest retailers will debut. Cutting-edge interactive technology will be integrated into the unrivaled digital shopping experience. World-class chefs, sensational restaurants, global street food concepts and open-air café culture will add to the culinary experience. A new entry point will incorporate the elegant beautification campaign alongside Santa Monica Boulevard and Avenue of the Stars. Acres of green space, lushly landscaped pedestrian pathways, strolling gardens and a central plaza will be integrated into a predominantly urban environment. A state-of-the art parking and transportation strategy is part of the plan, slated for completion in 2017. 

Westfield at Los Angeles International Airport debuted in the new Tom Bradley International Terminal as the centerpiece of its modernization program with 56 premier dining and luxury retail shops, world-class amenities and cutting-edge iconic design. The transformation continues, as Westfield delivers the same level of quality and service to several other terminals at LAX.

Westfield also presents the new Terminal 2 at LAX inspired by LA in Motion.  It will reflect the energy and echo the innovative “always on-the-go” culture of Los Angeles. Terminal 2 is the second international terminal and will house 18 new dining and retail destinations. The three distinct districts begin with Commercial Hub that connects to a Dining Terrace and ends with The Strand, an open, flowing shopping and dining district. The terminal is scheduled to be complete in 2015.

Terminal 6 at LAX, inspired by LA's famed Sunset Boulevard, will be a unique dining and retail collection with 21 celebrated local and global brands. Bold architectural lighting, exciting digital technologies and a cohesive use of materials will create an environment aimed at replicating the experience of travelling from downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Coast Highway. Project completion is set for 2016.  Westfield is involved in all aspects of design throughout the transformation of Los Angeles International Airport shopping and dining in Terminals 1, 2, 3, 6 and the Tom Bradley International Terminal.

Westfield UTC –  La Jolla/San Diego is where a multi-stage transformation incorporating stylish new boutiques, outdoor plazas, beautifully landscaped gardens and alfresco dining is underway. Phase II includes 251,000 square feet of additional top luxury and international retailers complementing the evolution as a resort-style destination. A new two-level 145,000 square foot Nordstrom is expected to open in 2017.

Technology Innovation

Bespoke, which opened in May of this year, is a trifecta of co-working, demo, and event spaces strategically located at Westfield San Francisco in the epicenter of downtown. It is where tech and retail marketplaces converge..

Westfield San Francisco Centre and Westfield Valley Fair have introduced guest services utilizing the latest technology that will further enhance the world-renowned shopping experience. “Answers on the Spot” is a mobile concierge service where guests may text a Westfield Guest Services Ambassador for answers while shopping. Brightbox Phone Charging stations offer free secure cell phone charging while you shop. Language Line gives guests the chance to connect with foreign language interpreters on iPads available at guest services. Interpreters are available to assist in more than 200 languages.  Dine on Time is a dining app allowing locals and visitors to order cuisine from Westfield San Francisco Centre's unique culinary offerings, for pick up or delivery to office, hotel or home within a two-mile radius.

Language Line and Answers on the Spot are also available at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles.

New and Renovated Retail

Westfield Century City, Los Angeles: Increased number of top national and international luxury boutiques.

Westfield San Francisco Centre: Finish Line, House of Hoops by Footlocker, Kipling, Club Monaco Mens, Makers Market and I Heart Ugg. Remodeled  Lululemon and Michael Kors.

Westfield UTC–La Jolla/San Diego: A new Nordstrom, stylish new boutiques, top luxury and international retailers.

Westfield Valley Fair: An extensive Luxury Collection with finest fashion brands, inclusive of Versace, Prada, Louis Vuitton, CH Premier and Balenciaga.

Westfield Garden State Plaza: The premier shopping center in the Metro New York/New Jersey area and one of the top performing malls in the country, will add global luxury brands Burberry, Ferragamo, Hugo Boss, Longchamp and Versace, joining the existing deluxe offerings at the center.  The new shops will be located adjacent to Neiman Marcus, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and Co., and all are scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2015, just in time for the holiday shopping season. In addition to luxury retailers, the center will also welcome Michael Kors Men, a flagship Michael Kors, a new-to-market Timberland concept and The North Face. 

Westfield at Los Angeles International Airport –Terminal 2: CNBC, SPANX, InMotion, Univision and eSavvy. Terminal 6: Belkin, Los Angeles Magazine News, MAC Cosmetics, MARKET 8600, M.Fredric, See's Candies, Sunset News, TUMI, XpresSpa and Access Hollywood.

Westfield at John F. Kennedy International Airport – Shopping at Terminal 8 is reminiscent of New York's own 5th Avenue with several new stores ranging from Hudson News to Porsche Design:  Brooks Brothers, iStore, L'Occitane, MAC Cosmetics, Pandora, Porsche Design, and Victoria's Secret.

New Culinary and Entertainment Experiences

Westfield San Francisco Centre is the home of TAP (415), a casual restaurant concept showcasing gourmet burgers and a wide selection of local and craft beers on tap.

Westfield Garden State Plaza: To further compliment the fashion array, Westfield Garden State Plaza will also debut several restaurants including newly opened Yo! Sushi, a Japanese inspired brand from the UK.

Westfield Southcenter opened Round 1 Bowling & Amusement, a venue offering bowling, karaoke, billiards and arcades for ultimate family fun.

Westfield at Los Angeles International Airport's Terminal 2 will be the home of:  SeaLegs Wine Bar, great wines paired with a seasonal California small plates menu; SLAPFISH Modern Seafood Shack, brings travelers real American seafood; Chinese cuisine at Pick Up Stix; Barney's Beanery, a classic road house; Build your own and signature burger options at LA-based BUILT; organic sandwiches and salads with Italian flair at Ciabatta Bar and handmade dough with the finest mozzarella at Fresh Brothers Pizza.

Westfield at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Terminal 8 has a wide variety of New York Style eateries and other widely recognized dining options including: the new Abitino's Pizzeria and Cascata Restaurant and Bar located in Concourse C, as well as three entirely new options to the Arrivals/Baggage Claim Area: American Café, Angelina's Metro Market and the one and only Dunkin Donuts.

What's Next

Westfield World Trade Center will debut as a Westfield Travel Collection Center in 2016 beneath the wings of The Oculus in Lower Manhattan.

With a $600 million vision and investment, Westfield Valley Fair will become a spectacular retail landmark with a new 150,000 square foot, three-level flagship Bloomingdale's department store. Joining the new Bloomingdale's and existing retail magnets Nordstrom and Macy's, will be a new property anchor, ShowPlace ICON cinema. The new cinema will provide a movie going experience unlike any other in northern California with state-of-the-art cinematic technology. The center will also introduce a brand-new parking garage featuring a digital navigation system that makes finding parking easier than ever before. The Luxury Collection continues to expand inclusive of stunning new showrooms for many of the world's finest fashion brands. Upcoming enhancements include a chic new dining district showcasing innovative chefs and restaurateurs, nestled amidst open-air pedestrian promenades and relaxing outdoor lounges. With these upgrades, Westfield Valley Fair continues its evolution into a 2.2 million square foot retail powerhouse with luxury fashion, cutting-edge cuisine, exhilarating events and entertainment, five-star customer amenities, and retail's most innovative new digital technologies all combining to provide an immersive sensory experience befitting the style and sophistication of Silicon Valley.
