Cultural Brighton Getaway

Drakes of Brighton

Explore the historical and colourful culture of Brighton and indulge your curiosity with a chic getaway guaranteed to leave you culturally impressed this Summer. drakes of Brighton, the 20 bedroom, design-led boutique hotel perched enviously on the seafront, are offering the chance to delve deep into Brighton's past whilst enjoying the award winning hospitality and cuisine of drakes.

With an indulgent one night stay in a luxury double room, this is a perfect excuse to experience the glamour of one of Brighton's most exclusive hotels. Begin by unwinding in drakes' cool bar before heading off to explore the coastal town. The package includes pre-booked admission tickets, with audio tour, to Brighton's infamous Royal Pavilion. Designed by architect John Nash on behalf of the eccentric and often scandalous King George IV, this ostentatious landmark is as stunning inside as out. Savour the lavish interiors that fuse Chinese-style decorations with wonderfully avant-garde furnishings. Discover the history behind this daring and inventive building and admire the many original items on loan from HM The Queen.

New for this summer, in the grounds of the Royal Pavilion, a stunning summer maze attraction will open from July 4, for locals and visitors to enjoy. Inspired by Oscar Wilde's 'The Selfish Giant', a fairy tale about a Giant who doesn't want to share the garden he loves with children, but learns the error of his ways, the maze is being exclusively made for Brighton by the creators of the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink.

To satisfy those seeking more, drakes will also provide guides, maps and information regarding a host of other cultural gems. Choose from the British Museum housing world and local history, the Booth Museum of natural history and taxidermy, the Hove Museum of film, craft and toys, together with a diverse selection of contemporary art galleries.

Return to the hotel with a wealth of knowledge that would impress any local, before enjoying a well-deserved three course dinner at drakes' highly acclaimed fine dining restaurant. Seasonal ingredients, combined with the flair and originality of Head Chef Andrew MacKenzie, make the cuisine a further artwork to appreciate. Come morning, a full breakfast can be enjoyed before a final wander along the seafront to The Brighton Wheel for a ride on this popular city attraction. The opportunity to view majestic Brighton from this vantage point are not to be missed. Admission is also included in the package.

Available Sunday to Thursday, throughout July and August, drakes' Culture & Cuisine City Break is priced from just £105 pp,  based on two people sharing, and includes over night accommodation in a luxury double bedroom, a three-course dinner (excluding drinks and service) and full breakfast in the restaurant at drakes, entrance to the Royal Pavilion with audio tour in a range of foreign languages, admission to The Brighton Wheel, admission into Brighton Museum and a local attraction information pack.
