eCommerce giant AussieCommerce and its Cudo brand has broken its own world record for the highest grossing online travel campaign in global history with an offer for the iconic Sea World Resort on the Gold Coast. The nine day offer generated almost $8.7 million in revenue and sold 43,685 room nights.
Last year, Cudo offered a similar Sea World package which generated $5.8 million in revenue and sold over 32,000 room nights at the popular Gold Coast resort.
“At Sea World Resort we are focused on creating the best customer experience and are continuously making investments throughout the Resort, from renovated rooms to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles appearances from December,” said Bikash Randhawa, General Manager of Sea World Resort.
The eCommerce retailer partnered with the popular family destination for the fourth year in a row to offer a limited time deal, which included five nights at Sea World Resort for up to four people and unlimited access to Sea World, Warner Bros. Movie World and Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast and inclusions such as two-for-one breakfasts and dinners and the Dolphin Discovery tour amongst other things.
“Families love our Sea World Resort deal because it gives them the opportunity to have the trip of a lifetime for a great price,” said Adam Schwab, CEO of AussieCommerce Group – Cudo's parent company.
Despite Australia being a far smaller market than the United States, Cudo's Sea World offer is the seventh highest selling flash deal of all time globally, ahead of offers from big brands such as Starbucks and Old Navy in the US.
Melbourne-based Peter and Stacey Popas have purchased the deal this year, and are planning the trip to Sea World with their two boys, aged five and seven.
“This is the third consecutive SeaWorld Deal we have purchased from Cudo,” Mr Popas said.
“The kids love it, the adults love it, and you save over $1,000 in the process. The unlimited entry means we can do half days at theme parks, relax at the resort and then drive anywhere on the Gold Coast for dinner,” he added.
