Cruise K'gari Your Way with Kingfisher Bay Resort

Kingfisher Bay Resort, K

Kingfisher Bay Resort has announced the launch of an exciting new package focusing on the unique marine-based experiences available to guests staying with the premier accommodation provider on K'gari (formerly Fraser Island).

K'gari's incredible array of attractions on land is also surrounded by a mosaic of marine habitats that provide a sanctuary for numerous species of marine life, and Kingfisher Bay Resort is proud to offer a selection of marine-based adventures for travellers.

Known as the Great Sandy Biosphere, this diverse natural landscape has been recognised as a nature reserve by UNESCO since 2009, placing the region in the same class as the Galapagos Islands, the Central Amazon, the Everglades, and Uluru.

Kingfisher Bay Resort's Cruise K'gari Your Way package coincides with the beginning of whale season at Australia's number one whale watching destination and aligns with Fraser Coast Tourism's Marine Mecca, an initiative to recognise the remarkable water-based activities available on the Fraser Coast.

Fraser Coast Tourism and Events CEO Martin Simons said only a few places on the planet can take your breath away and leave you feeling rejuvenated and inspired – the World Heritage-listed K'gari and Marine Mecca that surrounds it is one of them.

“Kingfisher Bay Resort's Cruise K'gari Your Way products are central to the Fraser Coast's Marine Mecca touring and product suite, accessing one of the most pristine and protected waterways on Australia's east coast with secluded anchorages, white sandy beaches, and abundant marine life that flourish in its unspoilt seagrass meadows, remote creeks, and sand flats,” Mr Simons said.

Travellers can now book their encounter with nature and select a marine-based adventure to suit the island experience they seek.

By booking Cruise K'gari Your Way, guests will receive a 2-night stay at the 4-star eco-retreat, Kingfisher Bay Resort, free passenger ferry transfers to the island, daily buffet breakfast and a choice of West Coast Cruise, Sunset Cruise, or Whale Watching Tour.

Kingfisher Bay Resort Senior Ranger, Cassie Duncan said the Fraser Coast has so much to offer, and believes a responsibility exists to share it with our guests so they can acquire a greater understanding and appreciation of this World Heritage-listed area in our own backyard.

"We are very excited for the beginning of the season. We have already seen humpback whales from our jetty and preliminary data in the region suggests we are in for an incredible season.

“Our whale watching tour departs from Kingfisher Bay Resort's jetty and provides guests with a larger-than-life experience with guaranteed encounters.

“Onboard our West Coast Cruise, we explore the island's remote, untouched areas on the west coast with crystal-clear water and pristine white sand. For those looking for something a bit slower paced, our Sunset Cruise is the perfect way to live life in paradise, with complimentary beverages during the island's famed golden hour.

“Cruise K'gari Your Way is an opportunity to base yourself at a family-friendly resort with a fully secure dingo fence and experience the more remote areas of this amazing ecosystem and the marine life that inhabits the area,” Miss Duncan said.

Regarded as a world class destination, Kingfisher Bay Resort welcomes around 158,000 guests per year and has long been the favoured accommodation choice for travellers on K'gari, particularly within the southeast Queensland drive-market.

During their time at the resort, guests can relax and enjoy full access to the resort's facilities, lagoon pools, take ranger-guided walks, 4WD tours of the island and witness spectacular sunsets along the western bay.
