Open to musicians around the world - applications until Sept. 11

(Macao, Aug. 27, 2013) - The Cotai Jazz & Blues Festival 2013 is calling upon all performers with a flare and passion for music to apply for a chance to participate in an exciting competition at The Venetian® Macao in October! This unique opportunity will see 12 finalists from all around the world flown to Macao, with transportation, accommodation and meals provided by Cotai Strip Resorts Macao, for a chance to play and be seen by the best in the industry while competing for a piece of the impressive HK$500,000 cash prize pool.

 

The Cotai Jazz & Blues Festival was met with overwhelming response last year, and is back again in 2013. With a competition open to individual artists, vocalists, instrumentalists, and groups of up to six musicians from anywhere in the world, the Cotai Jazz & Blues Festival will take place Oct. 11-13 at Cotai Strip Resorts Macao. The 12 finalists will perform to daily audiences of tens of thousands of Cotai Strip Resorts Macao visitors. The deadline for application is Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. Hong Kong Time (HKT).

 

From Oct. 11 to 13, The Venetian Macao's outdoor lagoon will be transformed once again into New Orleans Mardi Gras through performers, lights, beads, international food and music. Visitors will have a chance to enjoy the extensive fairground with games and family areas, indoor and outdoor gondola rides, and also be able to take advantage of the Chillout Area and Beer Garden.

 

Twelve finalists will be chosen from among the competition's entrants to participate in the Cotai Jazz & Blues Festival long weekend. First prize is HK$250,000; second prize is HK$150,000; and third prize is HK$100,000 for a total prize pool of HK$500,000, all in cash. Applications are made on-line, and participants are asked to share a web link to a live performance via online channels such as YouTube.

 

So polish off those brass instruments and be sure to submit an entry form and star-quality video demonstration for a chance to compete!
