From the capital, first stop is Tortuguero on the Caribbean coast, one of the few beaches where, on certain nights, enormous Green and Hawksbill turtles come ashore to bury their eggs. Heading inland to the west Volc�n Arenal, one of the world�s most active volcanoes, provides explosive interest alongside opportunities for mountain-biking and lake windsurfing followed by soaking in geothermal hot springs.

Gaining some height the tour moves into the ethereal realm of the Resplendent Quetzal, sacred bird of the Maya, in the cloudforests of Monteverde. Penultimate stop is Manuel Antonio on Costa Rica�s Pacific coast, where pristine rainforest is home to Two-toed Sloth and Squirrel Monkey. Hidden beaches provide reliable surf for boogie boarding or body surfing before returning to San Jos� and conclusion of the tour.
