A new luxury glamping experience – “StarBed Hideaways”, the only glass roofed shepherds huts in the UK

Over the last four years CoolStays have been providing travel eye candy and offering something different to other travel sites.  Our portfolio consists of extraordinary, unique and well…..cool places to stay across the world. We have added a brand new and utterly unique property to our website.  The owner Bryony Hancock, commissioned Blackdown Shepherds Huts to build her huts unlike any other- double huts with a glass roof over the bed. 

Nestled away on the western fringes of the beautiful Dartmoor National Park sits StarBed Hideaways. Guests can enjoy a romantic break in the countryside, sleeping in a stylish, rustic and hand crafted pair of Shepherd Huts, with plenty of access to the great outdoors. Both huts offer spectacular views of the surrounding scenery, as well as chances for some great al fresco dining and romantic evenings under huge inky black, star filled skies. StarBed Hideaways offer guests luxury glamping in a picture-perfect setting.

The first hut, Aurora, sits perched on a rolling hillside, looking out over the ancient Buckland Abbey estate, and onward across the valley of the River Tavy. The views from this spot must be seen to be believed. Halcyon, the second of the two huts, is a true hidden gem. Tucked away beneath a beech copse on the side of a pretty hill, this spot offers a secluded romantic getaway.

Both huts offer pure luxury from super comfy King-size beds to giant deep bathtubs - the perfect spot for a relaxing soak after a day out exploring this gorgeous part of Devon. Both have quaint kitchens where you can prepare some delicious locally sourced food, before stepping outside to enjoy a meal and a glass of wine as the sun begins to set. And as night draws in, get comfy in bed and gaze up through the glass ceiling at the night's sky.

As well as there being a fully stocked larder with essentials as well as treats you can also order from the incredible menu and enjoy a range of delicious home cooked meals. If you wish to venture further afield you'll be pleased to hear that there are 2 pubs within walking distance and an array of lovely restaurants nearby. Guests can also head out and explore Dartmoor in all of its glory, or perhaps just spend the day at a nearby spa enjoying some relaxation. Other things to do in the area include falconry, hot air balloon rides, and more. Or explore the fabulous Dartmoor Artisan trail through many of the idyllic villages and towns nearby.
