Contiki Holidays, specializing in vacations for 18- to 35-year-olds, has introduced its 2004 Europe brochure with a new resort on Mykonos Island, new lifestyle and short getaway tours and several money-saving opportunities for travelers who plan ahead. In addition to ongoing Fly N Tour deals, Contiki is offering several Early Bird discounts for passengers who book up to six months in advance. Early offers are valid anytime for tours listed in Contikis new 2004 Europe brochure or on contiki.com. Passengers can save $199 per person for booking six months in advance or $99 per person for booking four months prior to departure.

According to a recent Omnibus survey, Europe remains one of the top-most desired leisure destinations among younger travelers. Almost 30 percent of respondents cited Europe over other exotic destinations including Alaska, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico.

Contiki has expanded its product offerings in Europe to include the companys second resort on Mykonos, Greece, as well as a Pubs & Country Roads of Ireland tour and a new Berlin, Prague & Vienna Getaway. The company now offers more than 50 itineraries for travelers looking to visit Europe.

We are anticipating that 2004 will be a very strong year for European travel, so we are encouraging travelers to book early to get the best savings, said Lisa Wooldridge, director of sales and marketing for Contiki Holidays. Ireland, Eastern Europe and, of course, Greece, are already getting a lot of interest for next year, so were excited to be introducing our new products to meet demand.

New for 2004: The 9-day Pubs & Country Roads of Ireland is the newest of Contikis Lifestyle tours, which offer a more in-depth travel experience with smaller groups, higher standard accommodations and more inclusions than typical Contiki tours. This new trip visits Dublin, Blarney Castle, Waterford and Killarney and includes a bike riding excursion, a visit to the world-famous Guinness Brewery and a guided tour of the Jameson Whiskey distillery. Of course, travelers will also have the opportunity to kiss the renowned Blarney Stone and check out the hometown of U2s Bono. Prices start at $1,439 per person.

The new Berlin & Prague Getaways include an opportunity to discover Eastern Europes most fascinating cities. Travelers start in Berlin for three nights with plenty of time to see the remains of the Berlin Wall, shop in the fashion district or visit the Checkpoint Charlie Museum. The tour continues to the golden city of Prague for three nights, where sights include the famous Jewish Quarter, Cathedral of St. Vitus, and Karlstehn Castle. Then, travelers can choose to extend their trip by taking a train to Vienna for an additional three days. The 8-day Berlin and Prague Getaway starts at $555 per person.

Also new for 2004, Contiki will be opening its second resort property on Mykonos Island, Greece on May 15. Featuring 150 newly renovated rooms, a state-of-the-art nightclub, gymnasium, internet caf, tennis courts, beach bar and water sports center, the Contiki Mykonos Resort is an island paradise devoted exclusively to 18- to 35-year-olds. Packages include sports activities, daily brunch and dinner. Contiki staff, known as Contiki Action Planners (CAPS), are on site to organize activities and entertainment. The resort can be sold both as a stand-alone destination and as an add-on to other Contiki tours. Contiki currently offers several different tours throughout Greece including the 8-day Spotlight on Greece (from $855), the 14-day Greek Island Hopping (from $1289), the 19-day London to Athens (from $1919) and several Greek island cruises.

Contiki tours are specially designed with 18- to 35-year-olds in mind. Each tour offers the perfect balance of sightseeing and free time, with plenty of suggestions from Contikis knowledgeable tour managers. For those adventurers seeking extra thrills, Contiki offers a wide variety of optional activities such as white water rafting in Tyrol, Austria; parasailing in Corfu, Greece; or a folklore lunch and lake cruise in Lucerne, Switzerland. Optional activities can be arranged and booked on site with the tour manager.

All Contiki Europe escorted tours feature the following: accommodations; most breakfasts and about half of the dinners; transportation by climate-controlled motorcoach and trains or ferries, where indicated; guided sightseeing; plus a young, professional tour manager and driver throughout. Prices quoted are per person based on land-only packages, twin-share. Solo travelers can be matched with same-sex roommates to avoid single supplement costs.

In business for more than 40 years, Contiki offers more than 100 escorted tours specially designed for 18- to 35-year-olds throughout Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the U.S. For more information and a free Contiki 2004 Europe brochure, consumers should see their travel agent, call (888) CONTIKI or log onto www.contiki.com.
