Congham Hall Hotel (01485 600250; www.conghamhallhotel.co.uk) is launching a garden-themed offer for 2018 to accompany its free self-guided trail of seven of the best gardens in the surrounding Norfolk countryside.

With a renowned herb collection and 30 acres of parkland, the 26-room boutique hotel is a favourite place for garden-lovers to take a break. Yet, guests can explore others in the locality, too, by downloading The Magnificent Seven... Norfolk Gardens. Among the gardens on this free self-guided trail is Houghton Hall, where the beautiful grounds feature installations by world-class artists such as James Turrell, and Gooderstone Water Gardens, a wet meadow frequented by kingfishers. The trail is complemented by a Summer Garden Offer – a two-night break that includes tickets to the Sandringham Estate and a pot of herbs to take home from Congham Hall's plot.

The Summer Garden Offer will be available Monday to Thursday from 1 April to 30 September 2018, subject to availability. The two-night break costs from £458 per room to £798 for a suite, including dinner, bed and breakfast for two people, two tickets to the gardens at Sandringham Estate, and one pot of herbs.

Guests can keep the garden theme going in Congham Hall's luxury spa, with a 75-minute face, back and scalp massage that features rosemary, mint and lavender, handpicked from the grounds. Exclusively designed by the hotel's principal product supplier, UK specialist brand Elemental Herbology, The Herb Garden Signature Treatment costs £75.

Nicholas Dickinson and his team took over Congham Hall in March 2012. The hotel relaunched in May 2013 after completing the last phase of a major refurbishment. Nicholas has spent his entire working life in the luxury hotel business. Early on, he worked at the five-star country-house hotel Chewton Glen and Raymond Blanc's two-Michelin-starred restaurant and hotel, Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons. In 1994, Nicholas formed a partnership with Nigel Chapman, who had developed Woolley Grange in Wiltshire. Together, they created Luxury Family Hotels, which soon became the market leader in the UK for luxury family short breaks, and Alias Hotels, for the stylish mid-market corporate and leisure sectors. Both groups were successfully sold, and Nicholas and Nigel went on to develop Martinhal Resort on Portugal's Algarve. This is Nicholas's first independent hotel project.
