Completely Unique Safaris (Pty) Ltd Introduces Leopard and Art Safari;

“Tracks Down” Rare Leopard Species and Up and Coming African Artists

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – For contemporary art and exotic animal lovers who are looking for an experience combining both passions and one that is a departure from the typical “big-five” safari, Completely Unique Safaris (Pty) Ltd, a South African family-owned and operated company, specializing in highly customized safari experiences, announces the Leopard and Art Safari. The seven-day/six-night trip combines a highly focused Leopard tracking safari with a contemporary art immersion program.  The trip is in partnership with The Gavin Project, specialists in emerging contemporary African art with an emphasis on potential future investment. The project is tucked away in the Arts on Main development in Johannesburg.  This inner city development is a vibrant, collaborative community of yet to be discovered artists and such local modern art icons as William Kentridge, David Krut and Kim Lieberman.

Unlike most African safaris, the Leopard and Art Safari will go beyond the typical 'safari', and will focus on one of Africa's most endangered and elusive species - the leopard- as well as identifying young, up and coming African artists. Guests will have the rare opportunity to track, identify and actually participate in saving one of Africa's most elusive animals with The Leopard ID Project Southern Africa.  The trip will also include intimate, private pop-up art galleries in the middle of the bush with some of Africa's most promising and “under the radar” emerging contemporary artists and have private access to their 'mobilized' studios and galleries.  More than 20 percent of the trip cost will be donated to select NGO's and will be used in conservation, arts and education initiatives going forward. The efforts of the guests on the trip will also play an invaluable role in the conservation and protection of this endangered species, as well as promoting young art talent.

“For most people, truly great African investment art is simply inaccessible. However, what people don't often realize is that with Completely Unique Safaris and our partnership with The Gavin Project, we are able to offer people an art immersion and investment trip of a lifetime,” said Guy Ellis, chief executive officer and founder of Completely Unique Safaris (Pty) Ltd.  “Together with the exclusive private art experiences, we will be tracking one of Africa's most elusive mammals.  With the Leopard and Art Safari, we're looking to educate travelers on the importance of leopard conservation and to make young artists' work available to a few privileged guests. Guests will also have the opportunity to create their own pieces of art with each artist, making these pop-up safari 'galleries' something of a dream come true for art collectors and enthusiasts. Private art galleries and cocktail auctions are popular in large cities in Europe and the United States. Because we are in Africa, we thought we'd do it a little differently – in the middle of the bush.”

Guy Ellis, a multi-species conservation ambassador and avid African contemporary art collector, will personally lead the leopard and art adventure along with a team from Completely Unique Safaris (Pty) Ltd including a guest art curator, an on-the-ground safari coordinator, as well as a dedicated concierge.  Ellis is the founder of The Leopard ID Project, the largest single central database for leopard intelligence of its kind in the world.  He is considered one of the most knowledgeable leopard experts in Africa and is deeply committed to raising funds and awareness for leopard conservation.  Completely Unique Safaris (Pty) Ltd fully funds and houses The Leopard Identification Project, as well as its community education initiatives.

The Leopard and Art Safari will take place in South Africa and will take travelers on an in-depth wildlife exploration through the country, including two different regions to remote and undiscovered expanses only truly known to locals, expert conservationists and skilled trackers.  This customizable trip will allow visitors to see a side of African art not normally available to collectors and a species that is not often seen by visitors on traditional safaris. The all-inclusive seven-day/six-night safari is priced from $79,000, per person with a minimum of four guests.   The trip includes private jet charter within Africa; private pop-up art galleries in the bush; private local guides and trackers; private open game viewing vehicles; transfers by private vehicles and helicopter; private sole use of luxury accommodations at specifically chosen exclusive lodges; all meals and unlimited snacks and beverages; VIP meet and greet services by Guy; Completely Unique Safaris (Pty) Ltd's hidden secrets; laundry services and all gratuities, taxes and fees; and much more.  International airfare is not included. Additions and modifications to the itinerary can be added as desired to create a truly bespoke experience.
